These adjustable dumbbells are a really good value, read that again and let it process. The plates are accurate to within a few ounces, none of the plates I received were exactly the weight listed. The knobs had some left over burrs from machining that cut my hands, nothing a rasp cant fix, and they hold the plates on the bar well enough. So again, these dumbbells are a good value, not great quality but good enough, not cheap but not too expensive for what you get.

Been a weight-lifting enthusiast, off and on, since AF Tech School in '66, which makes me an old dog with plenty to say. It was amazing how much difference a little tone and muscle made with the gals over the years, while also enhancing my feelings of well-being, and that's why, to this point in time, some 53 later, and many sessions of lifting and vigorous exercising behind me, that I continue to do so. But the calendar keeps spinning for everyone and I felt an added need to acquire a new set of adjustable barbells, so as to keep the motion and flexibility there, while also trying to maintain some semblance of tone. Although it's very hard to actually add muscle tissue at 72, I was more concerned about range of motion and staying able to get up and sit down and engage in normal physical activities without thinking about it or creaking and groaning with every move. Because, if we don't continue to use our physique we'll no longer be able to do so. In checking the barbells available on this site, this set by ProTek made good sense, and yet I had to honestly laugh at some of the "gripes" made by other reviewers. These are just weights, not dinner plates. They get dropped and banged around in normal use where one actually lifts them and changes the discs, and they aren't just sitting all nice and shiny on some shelf or floor for others to "admire". They get sweat and debris from one's hands, and from the floor on which they sit, and they rust a bit over time if one lives in a humid environment. So what!? They're just weights - heavy rocks with handles for convenience - not trophies kept in a case and requiring spit-n-polish weekly. Because, if they aren't getting flakey or dinged or chipped - you ain't using them enough! And even if they are, who cares - they still work as weights. And this is a good set. It's got the extra center bar that allows conversion to a single weight-bar for curls or overhead/bench presses, and the o-rings are also a nice addition to keep the end knobs tight. And from past experience, if the o-rings fail and one uses up the extra ones, who cares - the knobs still tighten enough to keep the platters on the bar. The set came well packaged, but I WAS surprised it came via USPS, due to its weight and the various post office people that potentially would be moving it, and ProTek explained the prohibitive cost of using other carriers and that made sense. (Plus, the PO folks got some exercise, too...!) So, after all that rant, you won't go wrong with this set if you're looking for convenient 'bells with extras that add value, and not a trophy for the "workout room"...

After multiple companies repeatedly took money and then bailed on me at the last possible minute after shipping delays on standard/rubber dumbbells (thanks COVID, I hate you for hurting everybody), things were getting ugly... I mean, like... "don't look at me ugly," cuz I'm getting all nasty and round as the Goodyear blimp not working out. I finally went for these adjustable "old school"-looking TELK dumbbells as a last-ditch effort. They arrived in like four days (thank you ProTEK!!!) and the quality is just... excellent. Superb, in fact. Much quicker/easier to adjust the weight on them than I expected, and they are suuuuper SOLID. Comes with a ton of additional rubber "O-rings" for the seal, i.e. this is for life-long yo! Not only that, I weighed them on my digital scale, and they are DEAD ON... as in, both dumbbells weigh exactly the same when put together... to within ONE-TENTH of a pound. Bingo. I know they are expensive, but I actually bought TWO sets (yes, that's four dumbbells total). Here's why: this means you can have one heavier set, at exactly 25.5 pounds each (two dumbbells, each 25.5#). And then with the leftover plates you can make another set of 40.2 pounds each for the second set (yep, two dumbbells, each 40.2#). (You can obv's switch the weights around for different combos, but that's what I made.) That way you have a heavier and a lighter set at the same time so you don't have to keep changing them out as often. AND when you wanna go even heavier... you have the extra plates (and space on the mini-bars) from the second set... getting one set of dumbbells all the way up 60# each (didn't weight that last one out precisely but I think you get the idea). So I'm very glad I bought'em… and if you have the money, please do yourself a favor and buy TWO sets (again, total of four dumbbells) so you have max flexibility. You will not be disappointed. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go get "swole." The End.

these weights were amazing! very versatile and i like the grip that they have. these are my new go-to dumbbells! the plates are very high in quality, unlike painted ones from other brands. these shipped super fast too! i payed $200 for the 105 set, but would have happily paid $300-$400 because of the great quality and reliability.

Bumping the dumbbells together in any capacity (at the top of a chest press, per say) chips enamel. I have been fortunate enough to have avoided breathing in these flecks so far, but I can’t imagine it would be pretty should a flake land in my lungs…
