  • Value to ease of use
Easy setup fun to finally see the heavens up close. Fantastic quality for the price.

  • Good for price
Bought this to bring to Mexico to view the eclipse in totality. Tested beforehand and worked pretty well to see the stars. When it came to the eclipse we could not find the sun while using the solar eclipse and i unfortunately didn’t start trying to use early enough, I’m pretty sure it would have worked thoughh. ... show more

  • For amateur stargazers and families looking for an accessible entry into astronomy
Opening the NuJarzy Telescope was a straightforward experience. The packaging was functional, leaning more towards a budget-friendly presentation than a premium one. The telescope, with its 500mm focal length and 80mm aperture, promises clear and bright images, and the multi-coated optics suggest a consideration for quality within this price range. The standout features include the 20X and 50X magnifications achievable with the provided eyepieces and the tripling effect of the 3x Barlow lens, which is particularly impressive for a telescope marketed towards both beginners and intermediate users. The addition of a 5x24 finder scope for easy object location is a thoughtful touch. The user-friendliness is apparent in its easy setup, with no tools required, which is a significant advantage for beginners. The inclusion of a phone adapter and an adjustable tripod adds convenience and modern relevance, appealing to those who might want to capture their observations. In terms of performance, if it lives up to its specifications, the telescope should provide satisfactory views of the moon and other celestial bodies, likely meeting expectations for its price point. The ‘easy set-up’ claim is also noteworthy, as this can be a barrier to entry for many newcomers to astronomy. When compared to others in its class, the NuJarzy Telescope seems to offer a balanced mix of functionality and accessibility, which could make it a strong contender. Its portability, facilitated by the carrying bag, enhances its appeal. For its cost, the telescope appears to provide good value, especially with lifetime maintenance included. However, real value can only be assessed over time with consistent use and performance. Positives include its portability, ease of set-up, and the generous inclusion of accessories that enhance the viewing experience. On the downside, the packaging and overall build may not exude 'high-end', which might be off-putting for some users. Overall, the NuJarzy Telescope seems like a solid choice for amateur stargazers and families looking for an accessible entry into astronomy. It offers a good balance of features and simplicity, making it recommendable for casual observers or as a starting point for budding enthusiasts. ... show more

  • Easy to use and works well, with some limitations.
There is a lot to like about the 80MM APERTURE 500MM ASTRONOMICAL PORTABLE REFRACTING TELESCOPE WITH TRIPOD. There are also some things it's better at viewing than others. The best thing about this telescope is that it's easy to dial in what you want to look at and get it within the view area, so you can actually look at what you're trying to see. It focuses easily with the turn of a knob. This makes it ideal for inexperienced users and children. It's easy to put together; it's got a fully adjustable solid tripod, which includes a mount for your phone. It's easy to put together, and the directions are good. My one complaint about directions is that there is no information on how or where exactly to mount the phone holder. It comes with three lenses and a nice carrying bag that holds every part of it easily. There is second smaller scope which is attached to the main scope. It is to help you find, and zero in on a distant object, before you use then use the larger scope, to bring it into focus with magnification. I haven't really needed to use this smaller scope. This telescope seems to have all the components of much more expensive telescopes. It does have some limitations. The first thing you notice is how lightweight it is and that almost every bit of it is made of plastic. It makes it easy to carry around, but it also makes it feel kind of insubstantial. It has no weight to it and is easily shifted or knocked about on its tripod. The highest magnification lens is 25X. This is great for seeing earthbound objects, but it does nothing for viewing stars. I suspect that you can bring objects in closer if you mount your phone to it and view them through that. I haven't done that yet, but I'm hopeful that it works the way a microscope works when attached to a phone or computer, which enables you to increase the magnification. While the moon shows up well with the 2X lens, the stars and planets just look brighter and bigger, with no additional detail. For earth viewing, this is excellent, though. I live on a hill and have a view of far-off hills from my window. With my naked eye, I can only see lights across in the distance and vague shapes of vineyards and wineries, but with this telescope, I can see quite a bit of detail, including vehicles, outer buildings, and stately-looking mansions. I can also look through this telescope, up into the enormous Douglas Firs around me and see birds and their nests, squirrels, and even a raccoon once, all in excellent detail. I think for the price, this telescope is a good deal. For somebody new to using a telescope, like me, it's been relatively easy to get the hang of and easy to put together. It works well. It just isn't powerful enough for viewing the night sky. I'm a novice with no one to instruct me, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. It would be nice to have more thorough instructions on how to use it, rather than just how to put it together. ... show more

  • Missing parts
It didn’t come with any manual/instructions. I built it up based on the pictures. All the caps are off and it’s built exactly like the picture here but it doesn’t work.

  • I've had telescopes in the past
I've had a lot of telescopes in the past that weren't very good they were kind of cheap. I've never had a refraction telescope till now. I can't wait to use it but it's been raining and cloudy. So as soon as the clouds let up and I can see the moon I plan to take this outside and do some stargazing. And it has a hookup for my phone so I can take pictures of whatever I'm looking at through the telescope. ... show more
