  • Very strudy with minimal "wobble" in the moving jaw
Size: 8 in.
This wrench is really nice in most all respects.. My only gripe is that this is thicker than I'd like (one star off). Makes it more heavy duty, but I'd like a thinner version. Wobble on the adjustable jaw is not bad at all. This replaced a old wrench (lost) that was significantly thinner and could get me into some tight spots. ... show more

  • I expected better... but it's not bad
Size: 4 in.
Tekton tools have a great reputation for build quality, tool metal, and precision fit. The 4" adjustable wrench that I purchased isn't a *bad* tool, but it's not a great tool. I expected better. The Tekton wrench I received is made in China, and it is almost identical in every way to the less expensive Amazon Basics 4" adjustable wrench that I purchased at the same time for comparison. It's highly usable, very compact, and I expect to get years of use out of it. That's not a concern. However, the adjustable jaw is sloppy, which I did not expect. The adjusting screw has a lot of play on its axle, meaning that the moving jaw wiggles as you push the adjusting screw back and forth. And, unfortunately, the axle is driven in, not screwed, so it won't be easy to remove and shim the adjustment wheel. So, the screw turns easily, but the jaw wiggles a fair amount. It'll be fine for low-torque applications like tightening mirrors and other light maintenance on my bicycle, but it's not the premium tool that I expected. ... show more

  • Excellent value for the money!
Size: 6 inch
First, the wrench is excellent: as well finished as the Crescent wrenches of 30 to 40 years ago. Fit is excellent, with all parts tight and easy to adjust. Cost was great: not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Who is Tekton? They are US based and many of their tools are made here in the US, with some made in the Pacific Rim. Where is this wrench made? Don't know, as it was not marked. When searching their website, I saw the blurb about where tools are made, but also noted their tools are unconditionally guaranteed! If a tool breaks, simply take a photo, showing the break, as well as the Tekton marking and email to Tekton, with your address. They will replace the tool. I also bought a set of 1/2" drive impact sockets, and they are made as well as this wrench. Cost was above mid-range in comparison to other makes. I would recommend them also. Those reading this, should note I am 67 years old, not retired (I own a manufacturing plant). I have worked with my hands for over 50 years. Other mechanic tools I own are Craftsman, some Proto and my favorite, SK Wayne. The Tekton are not SK Wayne, but then again the price is way less than half of that level. Tekton feels better in the hand than comparable present day Craftsman, and at a lower cost. ... show more

Can’t beat it for the money, tekton makes great hand tools and this one is no exception. Works great and is made of great quality materials.

  • Great product, awesome customer support
Size: 6 inch
This is a solid adjustable wrench. The main reason for this review is to talk about the fantastic experience I had with Tekton customer support. After a couple of years of occasional use, the adjusting screw on my wrench had seized. I sent email to Tekton with a picture of my wrench and my Amazon order information. I got a reply within one day that they would be sending me a replacement. Three days later I received a brand new replacement. This is the kind of service you should get on every product, but sadly many companies are not responsive. I've bought several other Tekton products and have always been impressed by their quality. Having an awesome customer support experience makes me even happier with their products. They are my "go to" brand for tools. ... show more

  • Multiple quality issues
Size: 4 in.
After being extremely satisfied with my first purchase from tekton (a set of hex sockets), I was excited to see another tool I needed available from the same brand. The jaws have very prominent burrs on them. The worm drive has more wobble than any other wrench I’ve owned, and the side profile of the head is ground unevenly, making the handle sit at an angle to the head. The only thing worse than receiving a disappointing tool, is receiving a disappointing tool when you had expectations of it being top notch. I will be returning, and I’m not sure I’ll ever order this brand again. It’s a bummer, as it’s one of the few mass tool makers that are actually manufacturing in the USA. Guess I’ll be looking for a Japanese model. I bought the 6” version alongside this. The quality isn’t as bad, but my 6” ‘crescent’ brand model, the cheapo that comes in a combo kit at Home Depot, with the plastidipped handle, has much tighter tolerances. I’d hoped the tekton would be nice enough I could hand my crescent off to some Noob at the shop, but not this go around. :( ... show more
