Description

Size:10 in. Designed for heavy-duty applications, the TEKTON 10 in. Adjustable Wrench can take on automotive and small farm equipment repair. It also works well to secure back nut or bolt while tightening or loosening front nut or bolt with a socket or combination wrench. TEKTON adjustable wrenches are designed to be versatile enough to tighten and loosen fasteners of various sizes without needing to grab other tools. Made from durable carbon steel with a corrosion-resistant satin chrome finish, our wrenches will become a permanent staple in your toolbox. Manufactured to strict quality specifications, TEKTON adjustable wrenches meet or exceed ANSI performance standards. Precision-machined for a tight fit, the slide jaw and worm gear contact in 3 spots for smooth operation and less play. Knurling on worm guide allows for quick jaw size adjustment. The satin finish keeps wrench looking like new by hiding scratch marks that can be seen in regular chrome finished wrenches. Jaw opening guide has permanent laser etched size markings in both metric and Inch scales. The dual Inch/metric scale is useful measuring the size of nuts and bolts. Each wrench displays a stamped length size and model number for distinction among your TEKTON adjustable wrenches.

  • Meh.
Size: 4 in.
It works, but the head is pretty loose, especially for it’s size. Tekton is usually pretty decent, especially for being kind of a cheapo brand. This particular 4” wrench is on the lower end of their quality spectrum. For 5 bucks, not bad. If/when I lose this one, I’ll look for a better one. Edit: I’ve since purchased a 4” made by the “original brand” (hint hint). It is available here on Amazon for ten bucks. It comes with a plastic coated handle that I simply cut off. I did a side by side comparison and found my newest one to be superior. I smacked the two wrenches together at the jaw edge. The tekton was the one that dented, so either the tekton isn’t tempered or the tempering on the other is superior. What’s more important is that my new one came with some sort of tensioning spring between the adjustment knob and it’s spindle. This results in the knob not being able to spin freely, so it doesn’t loosen up between cranks on the bolt. Smart! Long story short: Prices fluctuate, especially here on Amazon. Unless there is a serious discrepancy in price between the two, I would/will go with the other one every time. I’m not trying to slam Tekton. They just didn’t get it on this one. ... show more

  • Not even worth the scrap value
Size: 6 inch
I bought this wrench after reading the other reviews. I said to myself how bad could it really be. It is that bad. To start, as you can see in my pictures the jaws do not close parallel. But I suppose there is enough slop in the adjustment that it could tighten square on your fastener if you tried. But oh wait, there's a 1/16" of slop in the adjustment. As you may note I marked the screw and the body so you could see I didn't move the screw, and yet the jaws can move in a 1/16 inch range. No quality went into making this tool and no quality work can be done with it. I have not even tried to use it and I will be returning it. I will spend the money needed to get a quality made tool that will last. I wasted mine time so you don't have to. ... show more

  • Excellent value for the money!
Size: 6 inch
First, the wrench is excellent: as well finished as the Crescent wrenches of 30 to 40 years ago. Fit is excellent, with all parts tight and easy to adjust. Cost was great: not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Who is Tekton? They are US based and many of their tools are made here in the US, with some made in the Pacific Rim. Where is this wrench made? Don't know, as it was not marked. When searching their website, I saw the blurb about where tools are made, but also noted their tools are unconditionally guaranteed! If a tool breaks, simply take a photo, showing the break, as well as the Tekton marking and email to Tekton, with your address. They will replace the tool. I also bought a set of 1/2" drive impact sockets, and they are made as well as this wrench. Cost was above mid-range in comparison to other makes. I would recommend them also. Those reading this, should note I am 67 years old, not retired (I own a manufacturing plant). I have worked with my hands for over 50 years. Other mechanic tools I own are Craftsman, some Proto and my favorite, SK Wayne. The Tekton are not SK Wayne, but then again the price is way less than half of that level. Tekton feels better in the hand than comparable present day Craftsman, and at a lower cost. ... show more

  • Maybe I got a defective one?
Size: 6 inch
I bought the Tekton version of this wrench first, and it was defective and badly put together, the milling was so rough that I had to force the jaws closed, so it was barely useable. I returned that and bought the crescent version for only a couple of dollars more, and it's almost perfect. Much better milling, absolutely smooth motion, and you can tell that almost every part has more attention to detail. Definitely worth a little more money to have a solid and well built wrench. It was hard to capture, but you can see some of the milling differences in the photos, and look at the photo of the handle thickness. The Crescent is much thicker, which will not only make it stronger, but also makes it more comfortable in the hand when dealing with something particularly difficult. In the photos, the Crescent is black oxide, and the Tekton is silver. ... show more

  • Very Poorly finished, bad grinds on jaws, gaps, loose
Size: 15 in.
I purchased two of these at the same time. I've purchased Tekton tools before and generally been happy with their form, fit and function. However these adjustable wrenches are cheap China-like quality and finish. The jaws on both sets do not come together in a parallel fashion like other quality adjustable wrenches do because of poorly ground faces on the wrenches. The floating jaw on both of them is exceptionally loose allowing the jaw to swim around in its channel. The forging line on the handle is poorly finished making it less than comfortable in your hands, I'm going to hate to put any real torque on the handle as the forging line is going to dig into my hands. Cheap for a 15" adjustable wrench, expensive for the quality, This is the first Tekton tool purchase I've regretted and do NOT recommend it for anyone that cares about the tools they have on their wall. I've kept the tags on these and will likely return them if we ever get out of lockdown (CV-19) ... show more

  • Disapointing
Size: 4 in.
I have the 4.5" Channellock version in a Maxpedition Pouch Mini-Tool Kit, and the quality on that is superb. I have other Tekton tools, which are well finished, and work smoothly. As I was putting together another Mini-Tool pouch to give as a gift, I figured I'd go with the Tekton this time around, and introduce my Brother in Law to Tekton. Bad Idea on this Chinese, Not Taiwan made product. The finishing on this is crude, the slop in the jaw terrible, and the working sticks and binds easily and often This certainly is NOT in line with Tektons quality commitment. I'm quite disappointed. Tekton would have been better outsourcing to Irega, or going with a USA manufacture as they do with many of their other products ... show more
