Sometimes, we just need a dinnerware set that works without the downsides that come with regular silverware and porcelain materials. This set is made of wheat straw and plastic, so you don't have to worry about breakage, chips, or weight. While we have plenty of fancy plates and other kitchenware, I wanted to get this set for those times when we just want to use something more ordinary. Even though they are a solid color, food still looks great on them. Their lightweight nature makes it easy to bring them out and handle them. Additionally, the plastic material ensures you don't have to worry about burning your hands if you have something hot on the plates. It's also easy to clean. Food often sticks to ceramic plates and bowls, but with these, all you need is some dish soap and a regular sponge. One of the best features, important for plastic dinnerware, is that these are dishwasher and microwave safe. Just be cautious not to overheat them. Currently, the price for this set is $22. When compared to similar products on Amazon, I believe this is a fairly priced option. While there are cheaper alternatives available, this set offers a well-balanced assortment of kitchenware and comes in various colors, something that many other sets lack. At this price point, I wholeheartedly recommend this product. Overall, it's a great, well-rounded dinnerware set that I can see appealing to pretty much everyone. ... show more

My wife and I are both enthralled by this set! We love the colors which are quite saturated and pup! They are extremely lightweight, but somehow seem very durable at the same time. The plates are very large, and the bowls are medium sized. The tumblers are a good size which is important to me because I like to drink a lot of liquids during the day. We have already tried them in the dishwasher and the microwave, and they handled both like champs with no sign of use or whooping or anything. The utensils are not big enough for day-to-day use for me. However, they would be perfect to pack when hiking or going on a picnic. Each comes with its own color-coded little tub with a snap-on lid, and so they would be great to pack even when dirty. People with smaller hands maybe able to use them for more than just that, but not me! We couldn't be happier with this set, and it's been one of the best purchases we've made in quite some time! ... show more

I have a couple of sets of bowls made from this wheat straw and plastic material, and I absolutely love them. They don't break, come in really jazzy colors and play nice with both the microwave and dishwasher. This set of plates, snack bowls, 20-ounce tumblers and eating utensils, then, will get a lot of use as well. The colors here are deep and rich - perfect for fall but just fine in all seasons - and I love the square plates and bowls. I admit to not being a huge fan of plastic utensils, but these are surprisingly sturdy (and of course, they match the rest of the stuff. The bowls are great for salads, soups, cereal and yes, snacks and the dinner plates are a fairly generous size (although you'd probably need two to get everything on a single pass at a Thanksgiving dinner table). I admit to being puzzled over the inclusion of four narrow, rectangular containers, each divided into three sections and each with a sealable lid. I have absolutely no idea what they're for - maybe individual condiments at a picnic...oh wait, maybe to stash those utensils in for carrying. Whatever they're for, they, too, match - and the set is a really good buy. ... show more

I have other wheat straw plates, but this is a nice set if you need reusable, durable set for outings, picnics, bbqs and camping. Dishwasher safe (but easily rinsed out in the field). Nice size plates, good bowl size, 20 oz. tumblers which is a nice size for canned drinks with a few ice cubes, and plastic utensils (knife, fork, spoon) in their own keeper container. The utensil cover barely snaps but remains closed. Each set color coordinated to keep track of which set belongs to whomever. Reasonably priced for getting more than 12 pieces (it included the utensils-- knife, spoon fork, and containers with lids--so technically 32 overall pieces). ... show more
