Beautiful plates, excellent quality! I haven't used them yet, so cannot comment on their functionality. The plates are normal dinner sized, extra thick with a raised design. They are just SO PRETTY! I bought only the dinner plates, as I have several holiday salad plates I can use with them. My picture is on a white placemat to show the color. They look good on a variety of colors (red, white, off-white, tan, plaid), but don't match my green napkins (Christmas green or sage). I recommend.

Wow! Okay I bought the bowls too and if you didn't know there are matching bowls, there are! As well as other miscellaneous pieces. Just go to the Metahom store. That being said the bowls are green so I got the salad plates in white and the dinner plates in green. I wanted something that has a classic and timeless feel and this it. I know I won't get tired of these 20 years from now. The quality is top notch and they are just beautifully done.
