I've looked all over nearby stores and can't find knee socks like these so I was pleased to be able to get them at all. They are warmer than the cotton/ploy or rayon blends available in dept stores, and I can't wear wool. These fit nicely, just the right height (and I'm tall at 5'8"). I have thin calves, and these socks fit nicely, not too snug especially at the knee, and no so loose that they slide down. I wear a size 8-1/2 shoe and bought the XL socks. Foot part of sock is actually a tiny bit long on me. They seem pretty sturdy so I hope they'll hold up to a lot of wearing. ... show more
