  • I WANTED TO LOVE THESE Teeter Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots with Bar
Teeter Hang Ups EZ-Up Gravity Boots with Conversion Bar I have loved inversion since I was a child. Even though I didn't know the benefits then I enjoyed hanging upside down. The 'A' Frame swing set in our backyard in those days made it simple for me to just hang. I would bend my knees over the bar supporting the poles on each side and relax. When I was inside on the sofa reversing my seating position and let my head hand off where my knees should have been. Being inverted created a sense of euphoria and wellbeing. During my college days I searched for inversion / antigravity boots. Everywhere I went they looked at me like I was from another planet. They never heard of such a thing. Eventually I gave up. Then in 2014 I heard of Teeter Inversion Tables. I ordered what was top of the line at the time EP-860 (at least that is what I was told). I've be happy ever since. When I caught wind of the Teeter Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots . . . it was Happy Dance, Happy Dance, Happy Dance. Finding on Amazon was amazing and the best price anywhere. I wanted to be so very happy with them. Could not wait for the Teeter's Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots with Bar to arrive. Everything was perfect, packaging was very good. Installation of the Bar went very well and took under fifteen minutes. I did have to remove ankle assembly on the inversion table first. The boots look and feel sturdy. I noticed the latch on one of them didn't want to lock properly. I brushed that off because I hadn't put them on. I deduced it would function better with more support from my leg. Once on (it takes some getting used to) I followed all of the security check. The Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots are weighty at 2.5 pounds each. I felt somewhat robotic moving my legs. Even with the thick foam, the hard-plastic hook I would be dangling from bore into the bone of my legs. That's how it felt, anyway. Apparently, a break-in period was needed. I listened to the clicks, the latches locking into place. Positioned myself on the inversion table and moved my legs anchoring myself to the bar. Inverting slowly, I could feel some slippage. Keeping the inversion slow I proceeded to invert more. At eighty percent inversion feeling the boots loosen I dared not to invert further. Looking up one of the latches had opened. Returning to zero inversion I attempt to tighten and re-latch the mechanism. I repeated this proceed once a day for a few days. Putting the Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots on did get somewhat easier. Though I could never get them tight enough to feel safe inverting. The comfort level did improve however they were never in my opinion going to perfectly comfortable. I could live with that no longer than thirty-minute sessions I would be on the inversion table. What I couldn't live with is the fact -- when I inverted 100 percent there was slippage. With hands on the floor I permitted it to continue until slippage appeared to have ceased. Not supporting with hands any longer and boots seemed more comfortable I attempted an inverted swat. It felt as if my heal was trying to slip through the boot. Glancing up I see the latch has unfastened once again. I ended my session, took off the boots, and tried to get the latch to lock. Fiddling with it a click followed. I could not justify keeping the Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots. It's what I always wanted. The price was exceptionally good. But I lost all faith and trust in them. Without that I was never going to feel secure wearing them inverted. I slept on my decision and following day I removed the bar and reassembled my inversion table ankle assembly. Boxed everything back inside the box and shipped back to Amazon.com. There has to be a better solution or design for the Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots. I'm still positively happy with my Teeter inversion table -- simply disappointed with the Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots. When you attempt swats, sit-ups etc. the boots were cutting into the legs. They didn't cut the legs though the discomfort was sufficient to discontinue a routine. I didn't mention the leg bend hoops that attach to the Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots. I tried them twice and they merely inflected light pain. Perhaps it is their purpose to help remind you to keep knees bent. Either way, I didn't like them. I would be ecstatic if I could recommend the Teeter Hang EZ-Ups Gravity Boots with Bar. I cannot in all honesty give a recommendation this time. I would suggest maybe give them a try to see for yourself. I have strong calf muscles and maybe it contributed to some of the discomfort. My final response here. Give them a try but my recommendation would be to try something else. • Disappointed with design
I love inversion therapy and I hate these boots. I really hate to say it but I hate these boots. I get angry thinking about putting these things on which is not good. I would not complain if I didn't think a much better product could be engineered especially considering the excellent design and success of the Teeter Hang up Inversion Table. There are two main problems. 1.) The front bites into the top of the foot because there is no curved shell to follow the leg to foot transition(which is the problem you are trying to improve over the stock foot clamps). 2) When you put these on it's as if they designed the plastic tongues for the buckles and the rubber padding reveal at the exact dimension to make them catch on each other. Did they not test this? The obvious solution? Just look to the rear entry ski boot for inspiration. Stick a hook on the front. Done! You could stop there and have an incredibly comfortable boot. Or you could carve off any unneeded material. No need to enclose the whole foot. A week, a hacksaw, and a half a dozen used ski boots and a person could have an excellent prototype built. ... show more

  • Way more comfortable than metal collard boots
These are the best. No metal collard boot can match them. Their flexible collar is the only way to go. The trick with this is to adjust them so they are very loose - just snug enough. It seems counter intuitive, but the looser you can wear them the more comfortable they will be. Too tight and they grab your skin and pinch. 10/30/17 Update: I bought these around 10 years ago. They are still going strong. This is a uniquely great product the likes of which must be supported or they will go away. In regards to comfort, no metal boot will touch these, IF you don't over tighten them. If you want to invert barefoot these are the only way to go. With others (metal boots) you will have to put shoes on to protect your feet from the rim of the metal. Not with these. You just put them on and go. ... show more

  • These are now very nice, well made boots
LISTEN UP!!! THESE HURT!!! HERE'S HOW TO FIX THEM--- go to the dollar store and purchase four(4) insulated can/bottle holders (closed cell foam rubber type). Take a straight edge razor and cut out the bottom. Slit each of the four "cylinders" lengthwise. You now have two "C" shaped inserts to put around your ankle. Problem solved. These are now very nice, well made boots. Teeter, take a hint and throw some closed cell inserts in with your boots!!! ... show more
