I spent about a year trying to find a new cabinet to store my whiskey collection. I don’t need anything huge because, well, I actually drink my collection and so it doesn’t grow much. If you have ever tried to find furniture for this task, it’s challenging. Most “bar” furniture is made for wine drinkers. Whiskey drinkers don’t use horizontal bottle storage. Because this is sitting in my dining room, I wanted something nicer than open storage. This little cabinet is pretty much ideal for me. My only knocks against it are that the little pins/connectors that hold the top and bottom on don’t actually lock very well. So if you buy this, plan on adding a ton of wood glue in and around the dowels that go into it. I also drilled addition holes to place the shelf in the center and go with a single shelf instead of two shelves. All in all, this project took a little bit of extra handyman effort but the finished product was well worth the $100 price tag. ... show more

I want to take the time to rave about this cabinet! It arrived a week earlier than the delivery estimate, which was a pleasant surprise because I resigned myself to a long, non-Prime delivery time one month ago just because it ticked all my boxes: - Matched or complemented my existing furniture and rented kitchen’s aesthetic - Short enough to *juuuust* fit under my kitchen counter to conserve space - Shallow enough to not stick out very much (there is a protrusion of a couple inches, as expected.) I am a 5’0” woman who is NOT very strong, and the package was easy to bring into my house and assemble on my own. I’ve assembled quite a few furniture deliveries during just the last couple years, and this has by far been one of the best assembling experiences - everything fit together just right, all the holes and hardware were there and in the expected places, and there were no scratches or damage on any of the wood or glass parts. The one hiccup was that one of the hinges attached to a door part (pictured) did have some crunchy orange rust build-up on it. No big deal, I unscrewed it and soaked it in Barkeeper’s Friend (citric acid,) then scrubbed it away as good as new. The wood has a warm depth to its grain, is solid, and feels well-crafted. I was honestly expecting the usual kind of MDF and the sharp corners typical of cheap furniture, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Even the thin particle-board back panels seemed a little heavier than I expected. I suggest when you assemble this part, just have the big manufacturing sticker face the outside so that the interior remains unmarred. I assembled this by myself in just a couple hours - and that includes the time I was soaking the rusted hinge. I’m very happy with how this turned out how it looks under my counter as a space-saving liquor cabinet! If you omit one of the shelves, you have plenty of room for wine bottles or those taller liquor bottles to fit in, while the shorter shelf can comfortably fit wine glasses or stouter bottles such as Grand Mariner, Suntory Whisky, or beer. ... show more

okay first off, don't buy this thing. It's beyond heavy. With that you'd think it's built to last I can enjoy it wherever I end up moving to. Nope! When I move out of my 2nd story apartment it's going in the garbage. It's not worth the price. Poorly designed and tiny tiny screws. Thank God I have a screw driver but it's battery operated and barely survived. There is ZERO chance I could have gotten the screws to line up without it. I had to prop things up on body parts and line up the tiny screw into the screwdriver and point as straight as possible (having to use my left arm at times and I'm right handed) NOBODY should have to go through this for a 100 dollar little shelf. Shame on the liars saying this was easy to build. I'm no beginner either, been building stuff for years! It has white paint in spots that do show and they sanded the top where the installed the magnet for the doors it looks blurred out compared to the rest of the wood. Just crap, not happy with this purchase at all! I'd return but I live in a 2 story and it's too damn heavy! Same day update: LOL okay, well after the fight between me and the shelf ended and I was able to drag it into my tiny bathroom and load it, It does look nice. It does have visible flaws but the overall look is nice and it will serve my purpose of storage for towels and extra toilet paper. I upgraded my review from a 2 to 3. If it wasn't nasty to build and with flaws, it would be a 5 based on style and look. ... show more

    • Put The Back On LAST!!!

These little cabinets are nice. Line drawing assembly instructions only but not hard to figure out! Put the back on last or the doors will most likely be out of square with the cabinet! (I made this mistake and had to remove the back to get the doors square) Without the back on you can square up the doors in the front by leaning the top left or right. When you get it square you can hold it while a partner screws the backs on. Put a screw in the top right and bottom right, then a screw in the top left and bottom left. Then insert the molding strip in the middle, sliding it down from the top. Then keep the cabinet square and finish the other screws for the back. After putting the first one together, the second was a breeze! Now that I'm good at it, I don't have to do it anymore LOL! ... show more
