My husband and i both got a TCL 40XL phone in 2023. We are impressed with how this phone has been. I definitely think of all the cell phones i have had (i think i have had at least 20 different types since 2003) this one is the best. The screen, audio, storage, and camera quality are great!

Do not buy this phone, I didn't even know it was renewed but anyways it would not take a charge, I couldn't even get the cable plugged in and it would not power on either...

Just a quick review of this phone, I have the version with 4 gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of ROM and I bought this phone around 10 months ago or so, and within the last 3 weeks my charger port which has sustained no damage prior, randomly became so problematic that I could barely even charge my phone if at all. After doing some searching and looking around I found on Amazon, a replacement charging port for the phone for $16 and the nice thing about it is there's no soldering required. Just simply pop the back off your phone unscrew a few screws unplug your battery from the charger port put the new one in rinse and repeat and you're done takes all of about 10 minutes to do. The charger port issue is definitely a design flaw, but for $16 I'm willing to spend that to keep my phone working regularly just because the phone is super great, and I hate to get rid of a perfectly good phone all over poor charger quality manufacturing. ... show more

The phone has the perfect screen size and more than enough storage. My only issue is that after less than a year the charger port on the phone has broken and has made charging the device a daily hassle . I opted for a new device before the port completely breaks and I am unable to access the TCL. I may try to fix the TCL xl 40. So sad ... show more
