I have a lot of dynamic mics, Shure SM7B, sE Dynamite, Podmic, on and on. Plus great Condenser mics too. Nuemann TLM 103, Rode NT1, etc etc.... I have been trying to EQ my voice for spoken word. All these mics with the exception of the sE Dynamite, didn't quite make it. Including the 103. (It's not the 103, it's me) Look, I am no expert. I am sure another more experienced person could have done soooo better at EQ'ing my voice with the other great mics. I don't blame the mics believe me. Far from it. I'm kinda upset as I have expensive mics. Hah But, right out of the box, this mic was it. It was made for me. Tight low end, not too sibilant and great mids. For MY voice. I didn't need to do much at all to get it right. This is a great dynamic mic. That I do know. It is well worth the $150. Again, the guys that moved on to Beacon that created this mic did an outstanding job. I just bought the white one too. Thank you TC Helicon. I hope you sell massive amounts because it in fact is a great mic. You can't go wrong with this mic but you might get pissed off that it is fairing better than a lot of other expensive mics!! ... show more

Haven't used it too much yet, but my initial testing is very positive so far. I'm really liking the EQ overall. The build is fantastic, and the colored rings are a great touch to try to get a small color theme match to your content/stream. The included pop filter also seems to work great, and does a much better job at rejecting my nose exhales than most of the other ones I've used in the past. Update: One minor thing I have noticed is that the noise floor is just a little high. Not enough to really cause problems for me though. Sound quality is otherwise excellent, and I really like the EQ on it. ... show more

Absolutely great mic for the value but it is in desperate need of a shock mount. I have the mic suspended using an Elgato desk boom arm to help a bit, but with every tap or movement is very noticeable. I'm not sure if TC - Helicon is even thinking about making a shock mount due to the original creators have left to create Beacon. Unfortunately it is so noticeable that I am in the market yet again for a great microphone setup. ... show more

This mic is superb with the GoXLR. It works perfectly and is my stream favorite. It is clear and precise, though it doesn’t come with the noise suppression foam cap.

I love the build quality but I think I’ve got a dud. The only reason I say that is has a kind of static sound when talking. I didn’t think much of it at first because it is very faint and I thought maybe it was my cord or my GoXLR. Well once I hooked up a $60 cheap xlr mic I got at a returned goods store and heard how clear it was, I went back and watched multiple videos and theirs sounded great. I couldn’t find anyone with the same issues as I had and I’m on a 3rd type of xlr mic using all the same equipment and tried multiple cords. It must have been a dud but seriously 10+ on build quality, looks, and presentation. ... show more
