i have never been a chorus guy (i prefer tremolo) but knowing Eric Johnson use the TC VFC, and I really like the tone he get out of it. then in the TCE web page they said this chorus is the same you can find in the VFC, so i said to myself lets get one of those. So i got one. The effect sometimes is very subtle, you have to crank the tone and the level knob to hear a hearable efect. Specially the tone knob is the one that really makes a difference, quite odd if you ask me. The pedal give you and extra boost in the lower frecuencies, i dont know why, so you have to be careful about the level. For my suprise i really like my dirty sounds more than my clean sounds, where i found it is better suited for single coils pickups rather than humbuckers, but with distortion magic happens everything open up quite lifeson style, i really enjoy that (huge rush fan here). i think i need some time to get use to this puppy. great quality by the way but you expect that from TC. Beware of the dog, GET AN AC ADAPTOR, this pedal will suck dry in 1 hour a good battery!!! ... show more

  • My second favorite chorus pedal!
Style: Chorus
Of all the chorus pedals I have tried, this is my second favorite. What's the first you ask? Digitech's Hardwire Stereo Chorus, it's an AWESOME PEDAL. But I digress, that pedal is not made anymore, and this review is for the Corona Chorus. I was first exposed to this pedal when a friend loaned me his, stating it could top the Digitech. While I feel it doesn't, this pedal is still an excellent stompbox. I wound up buying one recently because my DIgitech is on my pedalboard, but I don't like lugging my pedalboard into my bedroom for practice. I initially sought a few cheaper chorus pedals, but they all lacked something, so I finally coughed up the dough for the Corona, and I have no regrets. This pedal really isn't a plug n' play, you need to take the time to experiment with it and dial it in according to other factors in your overall tone. Once you do that, you'll be rewarded with a sweetened, fattened, tone, regardless of other effects and drive. If you can't get your hands on a Digitech Hardwire Stereo Chorus, I strongly recommend this one! ... show more

  • another great pedal from TC
Style: Chorus
I own 6 TC pedals now -- big fan of all their work. I was debating between this and the BOSS CE-2 Waza. For the money, this seems like a better buy. I like to dial FX and Depth up, and speed down for a rich creamy tone that I would stack against the CE-2 any day.. plus this does a tri-chorus if you're looking for a more complex sound. I personally prefer the simple creamy goodness that the default offers. Then of course, you can load your own toneprint if you get tired of all that. I suppose down the road at some point I'll come up with a reason to get the CE-2 as well ! All the TC pedals I own are true bypass, and this is the only one that I can hear when I switch it on/off -- I suppose it will depend on where it's at in your chain.. ... show more

  • Came highly recommended and I'm pleased
Style: Chorus
A friend who is a session guitarist in Nashville recommended this over my existing chorus pedals and I see why. Besides providing true stereo and true bypass, the pedal is very flexible, even to the point of allowing users to imprint sounds from other chorus pedals and to upload "tone prints", settings from national players such as Paul Gilbet, Steve Vai, and others. I haven't yet attempted that but it seems a pretty cool feature. This is a spectacular pedal, especially for the money. ... show more

  • I hate chorus. Love this.
Style: Chorus
I bought and cancelled this order a dozen times. A blank space on my pedalboard had been haunting me about 5 months now and I have everything I need. I fed didn't need chorus. I hate chorus. But! I'm so glad I bought this. My clean tones need zero help. I build my own amps and my main at the moment is a 57 bandmaster clone with some special tweaks. 3x10 alnicos are super sweet for clean to overdrive and heavier with the two barber pedals I use. This chorus makes my solos jump out! Adds a bit of cut and midrange depth - thickens in a cutting way. Very very Kings X with rate on zero! I have been wanting this sound for ages and had no idea. Damn the torpedoes! This pedal is now dual-locked onto the board. Oh, mine is post dirt, pre delay and verb. ... show more

  • Not as adjustable as I like.
Style: Chorus
I like the slow coloring settings in chorus. It has too little color in the slow-shallow settings and in order to bring it out more I had to increase the speed too fast or deepen the depth to a point where its "un-natural" instead of enhancing.... I was able to get an acceptable setting but not much room for error. IE: Speed, medium slow - depth, almost too much, and MAX FX level with tone at 2:00 setting. I think if I could get more effect level I could slow the modulation, reduce depth, and obtain the sound I prefer. I guess I'm spoiled by higher priced effect processors. It is an okay pedal all and all for the money. ... show more

  • Best chorus pedal I’ve played
Style: Chorus
This is the best chorus’s pedal I’ve played. The TonePrint feature makes it so versatile and all the presets within that all sounded great, too. Operationally, on the pedal, it’s just as versatile and however you dial it in it won’t sacrifice your tone.

  • This is THE chorus for people that hate chorus.
Style: Chorus
I owned few chorus pedals and I always disliked how easily this effect becomes "in your face" sea-sickness inducing tool. I have couple other TC Electronics pedals on my board - Flashback Delay and Hall of Fame Reverb and they are both great (after I bought HoF I stopped using amp reverb - HoF beats it hands down). I want to build a stereo rig for solo guitar playing so Corona was a good candidate based on my experience with the other two. It can be very subtle chorus - the "Effect Level" has whole range where effect is barely perceptible so it is easy to dial just the right amount. One thing that always speaks well for gear is the fact it inspires you - when I was testing Corona I just kept finding nice chord sequences - before I knew I was jamming for an hour B-) ... show more
