For the money I was expecting a quality mat, instead I received what could only be described as cushions in a bag. The outer material is very loose and moves around freely, figures - made in China. Don't waste your money.

I bought these for Jiu Jitsu. I have them in my garage on a concrete floor. They are great quality and have Velcro to attach them together at the sides. I’m truly not sure what people have to complain about here. We’ve been doing takedowns and throws on the pads and they seem to cushion the fall very effectively. I didn’t find the construction cheap at all. The Velcro is pretty hardcore. In fact sometimes It’s difficult to pry it off itself. I’ve had these for a few months now and I’m pretty satisfied. I mean, I would imagine a relative majority of people are using these for martial arts of some sort. If you need everything to be soft and gentle maybe you’ve chosen the wrong sport.

I purchased this mat for my 2 boys (10 and 8) who recently began taking gymnastics lessons. My boys were enjoying the lessons and wanting to practice their handstands and cartwheels at home. I used to be a gymnast as a child so I had an idea of the quality of mat I was looking for--after doing an internet search (I live in a small town and this type of mat is not available locally), I found this particular mat. It is getting use on a daily basis, either for practicing gymnastics or for some impromptu wrestling. It is holding up well under their activities, and I have even tried a few things on it myself! It does have the ability to velcro to additional mats either along the side or end-to-end, and I am considering purchasing a second mat to give us even more tumbling space length-wise. The only kicker on the whole deal is the shipping cost--but after all my searching, the price on this mat plus the shipping cost was as good as I could find. I am happy with this product and do recommend it. I think another review had previously talked about an odor--it may have had a slight odor when it arrived but I don't detect a trace of it now (a couple months later).

We purchased the 4'x8'x2" inch Z-Athletic Gymnastic Tumbling Mats to practice martial arts, gymnastics flips and tricking moves. We have had it for a few months now, and we are pleased with its quality and functionality. For the quality, size of the mat(s), and with the additional benefit of Prime free shipping, the price of $148.00 was a very good deal for us. Was debating on purchasing this for my daughter, glad we did! She loves it and uses it all the time. I thought it would be too small, but it isn't. It would be hard to do a big running pass on, but for practicing her back handsprings and walk-overs, it's perfect! After reading the reviews I was concerned about the smell, and it does have a chemical smell at first, but it goes away (or we get used to it). You can't smell it when you walk into a room, but if you put your nose right in it, you can. It doesn't bother us.

Great mat for BJJ rolling. It's firm but has a little give. It Velcros easily and securely to the other mat I have. The only concern I have is the gap between the two mats is big enough for a toe to get caught in. Besides that very happy with this brand.

I'm very happy with my purchase! I wanted similar mats that my JuJitsu Instructor had, found these on Amazon and gave it a try. I like the thickness which was my first concern especially for throws. I've liked it so much that I bought another one. The Velcro that fastens them together is sturdy. Overall I like my purchase and won't hesistate to buy more as my garage dojo is expanding.
