Description

214ce-K Grand Auditorium Koa Natural ES2 Crafted with solid tops for optimal projection, clarity, and tonal balance, Taylor’s 214ce-K Grand Auditorium koa ES2 models offer the balanced highs and supportive lows of the brand’s flagship, medium-sized body shape, generating warm lows and crisp, clear treble notes, accented by deluxe appointments, with a modern feel and articulate response. Plus, Taylor’s ES2 electronics provide ample tonal control and responsiveness. 200 Series—Sitka/Koa Taylor’s 200 series is crafted with solid tops for optimal projection, clarity, and tonal balance—so, whether you’re a new player on the hunt for inspiration from a new instrument, or an experienced guitarist looking for an accessible pro-level tool, a Taylor 200 series will cover just about any application. Beautifully figured and durable, the layered koa back and sides on these guitars come loaded with high-end performance appeal, further enhanced by the full-gloss body, white binding, Small Diamond fretboard inlays, and Venetian cutaway. Grand Auditorium The brand’s flagship body shape, the Taylor Grand Auditorium’s medium size offers balanced highs and supportive lows, making it a versatile choice that’s fit for nearly any playing style. Boasting bold, balanced tone, the Taylor Grand Auditorium provides vibrant, well-defined sound across the entire tonal spectrum, thanks to a more tapered waist than a traditional dreadnought, making the Taylor Grand Auditorium the Swiss Army Knife of Taylor’s body shapes. Q: Does a cutaway diminish a guitar’s tonal output? A: Not in a discernible way. We recommend you decide based on whether you want that extra upper-fretboard range; or, if you simply have an aesthetic preference—either for a more traditional, symmetrical look of a non-cutaway, or in favor of the sleek, more modern contouring that the cutaway offers. V-Class Bracing The Taylor Grand Auditorium features Taylor’s innovative new V-Class bracing, which lets the soundboard of the guitar vibrate naturally, increasing sustain and overall cohesiveness, and generating additional volume without sacrificing sustain. This design puts the body more in tune with the strings, improving articulation and harmonic alignment, resulting in a sound that is optimally warm and seasoned, nicely blended, and full of luscious low end without being muddy. ES2 Electronics The Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) delivers the latest technology in Taylor acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the ES2 system is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, featuring three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The new positioning enables the piezo pickup’s crystals to respond more naturally to the guitar’s energy as it is transferred through the saddle, with three pickup sensors installed behind the saddle, through the bridge, with three tiny Allen screws that calibrate the position of the sensors in relation to the saddle. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed preamp, this ES2 system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness.

  • I love this guitar
Thank you, Alamo Music. Got this for a great price. It sounds like angels singing. It looks beautiful, sounds great, and plays easy. Good deep sound, great balance. I just love it. Sounds great with capo too.

  • Sounds good
Was hard to play, had to get a fulls setup done. very light, frets are little high. Sounds good and bright, there are options that sound similar in quarter of what this costs.

  • Now that’s a real guitar.
Sounds so bright and light and pretty. The lighter gauge than traditional sounds so pretty on this Koa spruce combo. Super playable neck. I call it a race guitar or a speed guitar. You can shred on this acoustic like an electric. If you like playing fast, this is the guitar for you! I play finger style and I can get pretty quick. This guitar is one that allows my left hand to keep up with my right hand. Buy it! Plus the gig bag feels like a $200 bag. Quality nice. For the guy that gave 1 star because your house burned down and you never got it okay it. Are you for real? You can’t give any review if you never played it, your house burning down is not the guitar’s fault. Remove your review bro. To the one that said it cracked. Did you not keep it humidified? They don’t stand behind humidity issues because that’s user error. No guitar company does. ... show more

  • Perfect Guitar!
I've played nearly every guitar available at 3 guitar centers before going to Amazon and purchasing the 214ce-k. I wanted to save a little money, so I was sure something would feel or play the same as this guitar at a lower price. I was so wrong. Taylor stands by the quality of every one of their guitars - from the bottom end to their very high end. Thus, they command the premium price. This guitar has a very sweet-sounding, yet very full and powerful tone. It is not ear-piercing like most cheaper guitars - even Martins - at this pricepoint. The koa helps very well on the bottom-end and the spruce top delivers the mids and high tones beautifully! Overall a perfect guitar product I just could not refuse. I have not been able to put it down since I received it 2 weeks ago. I am a very happy customer. ... show more

  • Never got to play it!!
Didn’t get to play it, my house burned down and the guitar burned down with it. 1100 down the drain. Sucks, but first looked nice.

Poor craftsmanship. Surface cracked with in 3 years. Once they have your money forget Taylor standing behind their product
