This is my 1st (and only, to date) tattoo gun/pen. It was easy and quick to start. To me, it was comfortable to use, and has a good feel. It easy to adjust and control speed, and quick to change needle cartridges. I have only used this on myself, but it seems to work and function as intended. Does tend to get warm after 30-45 minutes of solid use. However, I've gotten great results as I am learning and expanding my capabilities. As a first-timer I would recommend it. Not sure how Professional Artists would rate it, but I have enjoyed it for the past few months. *Not all included pieces pictured

This is a good beginner's kid. It has everything you need and the only thing is that it's pretty loud and the velocity doesn't get too fast. I would definitely recommend getting a better one within a few months of learning

Overall this works fine for someone just starting out, or well, wanting to/ brave enough to give yourself and friends some basic tats. It works fine and the foot peddle is nice to have vs trying to adjust things on the gun itself. My only gripe would be the needles it comes with seem to be kinda cheap. I kept using one of the shadding needles, after using it a bit on some fake skin and letting it sit on and off, the needles got stuck in the cartridge. I was able to pull it apart and then push the lil plastic plunger in it forward more, and it did unstick itself. So just something to watch out for, and possibly get some better quality needles.

This is a great tattoo kit, and it's particularly excellent for beginners, which I will explain. The real standout in this tattoo kit is the tattoo pen, which is very compact (short, wide), and has an excellent grip area. The grip is a sort of reverse taper. This enables the user to use the pen as is, which is likely what a tattooing beginner will choose to do. However, for more advanced users the pen can be made very thick in the grip area using grip tape and folded paper towels. The reverse taper helps keep the modified grip area in place. The pen functions very nicely, and is smooth throughout it's entire range, all the way up to 12v. I won't say that it's the quietest machine, however, but it is by no means noisy. Additionally, if the user chooses to add a battery pack (forgoing the included AC power supply and foot switch) he will find that the center of gravity and balance point barely shift. However, no battery pack is included with the kit, and would have to be purchased separately. What is included is a very nice, metal cased AC power supply. This power supply has decent weight for it's size (unlike the cheapo plastic power supply that many units come with), and features a really nice digital LED readout. Easy adjustments to this unit. Also included in this kit are a very nice set of practice inks. I stress that they are "practice" inks, and you will ultimately want to purchase sets of larger volume inks to do actual tattoo work on people. There is a nice set of ink caps, two rolls of black grip tape (narrow), a decent (though plastic) foot switch, AC power cord, "clip cord" with RCA plug, 2 sheets (1 yellow, 1 tan) of synthetic tattoo practice skins. These are very nice since one of them already has the designs transferred to them, which makes practice super easy. Several sheets of tattoo design transfer paper are included, as are 20 tattoo needle cartridges of good quality. The tattoo needle cartridges are very nice, and feature a large port/window above the tip & well. They are made of thick, medical grade plastic, and lack the internal stiffeners seen on the majority of most newer cartridges. They are however, thick and should be quite rigid. The cartridge come in two types: 10 liners (1203RL), and 10 shader (1205RM). This is fine for getting started. All in all, an outstanding value. I really like this set.

For just $30 you can give your friend a tattoo. That's right. Why go to the parlor and spend $100/hr?? This kit comes with everything you need! Just a warning the inks say "for practice only" so you can use them on the included practice skins but maybe not on your human skins. The kit seems to be pretty well built. I was able to try some simple designs on the practice skins and felt actually pretty confident although I'm not sure I would graduate to humans just yet. But I've always had an interest in tattoo art and this kit is really helping to itch that scratch!

This tattoo pen works. I've had no issues with it. It does lining ok, not great, and it does shading well. There are other better higher quality kits on Amazon for the same or similar price. So for $60 I'd tell you to look around. If they're selling it at their sale price, 50% off, then absolutely buy this as it works well for shading and it does pull decent lines as well.
