I have used this reciprocating saw for one task so far and it performed better than anticipated. We had some trees growing that we did not plant, a couple being walnut trees that the squirrels must have thought were needed. But, not in the middle of a flowerbed. One especially large tree/bush/shrub started growing next to a knockout rose, it eventually killed out the rose and was taking over the corner of the flower bed and growing at an astonishing rate. The saw was able to cut through all the 2-3” diameter branches without too much pressure needed. We fought this greenery for years, it just kept growing back. After cutting the branches close to the ground some tordan was applied to each branch so hopefully this is a permanent solution. I also did some pruning on a 15’ crepe myrtle. I was able to position the saw to cut back the sucker branches growing between the large established branches. I do feel this was easier than using lopers. The batteries were all fully charged when we received the saw, I had 3 full bars after 2 hours of use so I expect the batteries to hold up to a full day of use. The saw was light enough to use with a single hand when working in tight spaces without any fatigue. This saw was at a higher price point than some other saws but you get what you pay for. A lesser saw may suffice for small tasks but this saw held up well for what I have used it for so far. There is a sliding lock lever, it may be better to have the locking mechanism designed differently since it is easy to accidentally unlock the saw. The saw blades were easy enough to change, it would be difficult for a child to insert a bade, good safety feature. The saw blade case that was included was difficult to open, maybe a little disadvantage for those with any arthritis but a good safety feature for children. I look forward to seeing how this saw performs for projects we have planned where a jigsaw won’t be as easy to use, like cutting some pvc. ... show more

I don't really like to give 5 star reviews but this deserves 5+. I have 5 other different types of saws. I can get rid of 4 of them. This little saw is lightweight but powerful. It's very easy to handle with either your left or right hand.vThe battery lasts and lasts. I cut several thick tree branches which took several hours and the saw was still going strong without needing charging. It sat for several weeks unused and it was still fully charged. The blade is super sharp and took the branches down like butter. The only thing the long blade is is not good for thin twigs but I haven't changed the blade so this is probably operator error. ... show more

I've been using this to thin out trees. Works for up to 3" diameter limbs. The extra battery is nice, as well as the storage case. Great little tool at this price.

Purchased this to replace a decaying catalytic in my old Jeep. Not the most powerful saw but it got the job done, going slow, using a bit of oil and (purchased separately) a couple Diabolo steel-cutting sawblades. Great kit with everything you need – the reciprocating saw, 2 Lithium Batteries (3/4 full when they arrived, with 3 of 4 LED lights on to show charge level), charging cord, 5 green big tooth blades of varying length for wood and 3 black fine tooth blades for metal and plastic, a plastic holder for the blades, safety glasses, work gloves, directions and a zippered cloth like case for the entire kit. The day I got it I cut down and cut into shorter sections five 1 inch maple tree saplings and a 3” diameter 1/8” thick iron pipe with no trouble or stalling. I love that it is super-fast changing blades – just turn the business end and slide the old blade out and the new one in and turn it back to lock the blade in place.
