Its a big tarp but defiantly not 7mil. I have another tarp that is 7mil and feels much thicker than this one. Otherwise the grommets are decent and works for my needs.

The MVPNET Multi-purpose tarp is of good quality at a great price. The seams appear solid and durable. It's large and can be used for various purposes. I used it for camping before but will use it as a liner for furniture in my storage to prevent water damage should there be any water leak. I anticipate it will work very well for that purpose as well.

According to my calipers, this tarp is at most 4.5 mil. That's significantly thinner and less durable than the advertised 7 mil. As a light-duty tarp this is fine, but light-duty is what this is.

This is a decent tarp for the price point. Tarps are one of those things that the “duty” designation is mostly relative and difficult to be objective about. It takes experience to know which weight tarp is best for a given project. This tarp is “light duty” in my subjective opinion. I deal with tarps a great deal, and that is how I would rate this. It is great for providing cover as is depicted in the description. It is relatively lightweight for such a large tarp. It is well made with excellent reinforced seams with a supportive edging. The grommets are good quality and are strong and I anticipate they will be quite durable. At the $20 price point, I think this is a great value and I couldn't beat it at any retailers near me. I definitely recommend this tarp for light-duty use.
