I used a steamer and steamed the inside of the jacket, which helped the wrinkles on the outside of the jacket fall out. It took awhile, but I was bored and had time. The jacket came in a vacuumed sealed bag. The jacket did have a slight scent to it like some faux leather items have. I turned it inside out washed it on gentle cycle and let it air dry. Washing did not mess up the jacket and took the smell away. The jacket and pockets comes up a little higher than I would and like but still cute comfy and warm.
