    • Works well with a 20lb propane tank
This beats a solar heated shower by far. It is a little bulkier than I was expecting. But the dimensions are listed correctly. We were able to shower all four people all three days and hardly use much of our 20lb propane tank. I used D battery adapters, allowing me to use rechargeable Eneloop AA batteries. It lasted our weekend trip use, but I know they don't have the same mah capacity as actual D batteries. I suggest you do the same and get battery adapters, or keep a few spare D batteries on hand. I wish it had a 12v hook up since i have 12v and an inverter in my Jeep. Its quick to adjust the temperature. might be wise to keep the young ones form the controls. With this it's easy to use up more water than with a metered solar shower. So be mindful of the water consumption if camping remotely. Have somewhere to set it that its safe from little one's hands during and after use. ... show more

    • Works great, just don't forget the batteries.
Really, the only complaint I have about this water heater is it uses "D" batteries instead of simply being rechargeable. If it was rechargeable, I could run it off a solar panel or something. So, when you order this, make sure you order up some "D" batteries to go along with it. I highly recommend lithium batteries, as they're much less prone to leaking when you forget and leave them in over the winter. The rest is golden - it's easy to hook up, easy to use, and performs reasonably well. Don't expect boiling hot water for showers, but it's definitely 100x better than straight cold water any day. One thing to watch out for is the exhaust coming out the top gets pretty hot, so make sure you don't have anything over the exhaust that might get melted or burned. In all, I like it a lot, as it works well and seems to be pretty well made. Like I said, I just wish it had a rechargeable battery instead of "D" batteries, but at the very least you can order rechargeable "D" batteries and it's almost as good, or just use lithium batteries. 4 stars. ... show more

This is a tankless water heater and it works well to heat your water up quickly. We use this for our RV outside but it would also be great to use outside in the winter to wash large dogs with warm water. Highly recommend!
