The quality on this cabinet is much higher than I expected. The only piece that is thin is the back--The rest feels like pretty solid wood. It was easy to put together but took me about 2 hours because there were just a lot of pieces. It's a great upgrade to my mudroom!

When I inherited my four legged friend I had his food bowl on the kitchen floor and more of his things kept piling up around the house. This cabinet keeps everything off the floor and counters and out of sight. Bulk food fits in the upper section and the bottom holds the food bowl. There is a shelf where I keep his supply of medications and a place to hang his collar and leash when not in use. The very top of the shelf is perfect for a decorative container of treats and a plant. Easy enough to put together, just make sure you look at the pictures to determine which direction some of the pieces go. This is a sleek piece of furniture. It did arrive with a chunk of 'wood' missing from one of the pieces, but luckily it was a piece that isn't visible once the feeding station is assembled. My husband used wood glue to re-attach it, no biggie. From start to finish, this took him about an hour and half to assemble. We bought this because we recently acquired a kitten and he has his own bedroom that he gets shut into at night so that our dog can't bother him. Once he's a bit bigger we'll feel safer with him having free-run of the house at night. But until then, it is the smallest bedroom in the house and space is definitely an issue. We had a big plastic tote for his food, a mat with his food and water dishes on it (that he was constantly knocking over anyhow), an ottoman that opens into a chaise and into a bed, a dresser, and a vanity (not to mention countless cat toys). I gave away the vanity, rearranged the dresser & ottoman, and ditched the food tote and food dishes/mat. It made a big difference, and now he isn't spilling his food and water. I like the 'cubby' shelf because I can store wet cat food and dry cat treats there, and the top is a large enough surface for a cat bed. ... show more

Assembly was similar to an IKEA item. My only complaint with the assembly was the lack of explanation in the instructions, only pictures, but I figured it out. Once together it is sturdy and looks great. Works perfect for a dog food/treat station. I bought some little baskets on Amazon to fit on the shelf for additional treat storage.
