Description

The 35mm F/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 (Model F053) is a wide-angle, fixed focal lens suitable for just about every shooting situation. The 35mm focal length is wide angle-of-view, but natural perspective and field-of-view for instinctive image capture. The lens is great for many different types of photography, including portraits with context, food photography, and nature. Very light in weight and compact, it hardly adds anything to the heft to your bag, so you can carry it comfortably every day. Focusing as close as 0.15m (5.9 in), you can fill the frame with even small subjects. In addition to the F/2.8 aperture, the Model F053 is constructed using special glass materials including LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements effectively arranged to quash aberrations. The Model F053 provides outstanding optical performance across the entire frame, and delivers a sharp image, right down to the texture of the subject. With Moisture-Resistant Construction and dirt-resistant Fluorine Coating, photographers can shoot confidently outdoors. You will discover beauty that you have never experienced before. This lens may lead you to new discoveries.

  • Great Wide Angle/Low Light Lens for Budget Minded Shooters!
I'm a content creator on a micro-budget, and I needed something for my Sony A7III that would allow me to get close up shots of products I was reviewing. This little lens did the trick! I can't afford all those $1,000+ lenses (although I certainly wish I could!) so I'm always on the hunt for decent lenses under $400. I wouldn't call this a full blown macro lens for things like insect photography, but for things like flowers, plants, small animals it's great! You can really get close and sharpness is pretty good. There are better lenses, of course, but for the money I really don't think it can be beat. If it suits your needs for a close up style lens it's absolutely worth it! ... show more

  • A good name in lenses, auto focus, and macro for a good price.
Am just starting out with a A7C. I shot mostly antique furniture for online sale, and needed something that would let me work in my dark and tight studio. I was looking at other 35mm lenses with a lower f stop then my kit lens' f4 which is practically f5 when at 35mm. Though there are many other 35mm with a lower f stops than 2.8 of this Tamron, the macro capabilities and the current price sold me. With macro, this has saved me time swiping lenses when I need to get just one or two pictures of something close up like a scratch or a label. It has worked out really well so far, and at 199.99 may be a sleeper of a deal. For what I am doing, the picture quality has been good, though I have not done much with outdoor photography. With what I saved on this compared to some of the other 35mm lenses from Sony, Sigma, and Tamron it self, I was able to also get a Sony 50mm 1.8 used which I have also been looking at. ... show more

  • Slow autofocus results in too many lost shots
The reviews of the sharpness of this lens are superb. However autofocus is known to be slow. Because I primarily shoot static subjects, like trees and flowers, I thought I could live with slow AF. But in reviewing my shots made with this lens I found too many were poorly focused. So I've stopped using it. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price
Tested on the A7r IV which is a tough master with its 60 megapixel sensor. Good sharpness in the center, mid zone isn't bad, corners just ok but turn to mush at close distances, i.e. the point where the usual minimal focus distance turns into macro. To be frank you kinda get what you pay for and a Macro 35mm at this price is stretching ones optimism somewhat. I didn't have any problems mounting, the weather seal didn't cause any problems and although the focus motor is not silent, it's a low pitch hum which is not distracting IMO, at least for photo use. Focus was sure and accurate in the moderately good lighting conditions that I was testing with. The lens hood design is nice. Good protection for the lens and the cap snaps onto the front of it which is convenient. Overall, a good lens for the price, probably best suited to a 24 megapixel camera where it will no doubt shine far better than on my A7r IV. ... show more

  • Inexpensive Lens with Priceless Image Quality
Wow. Talk about exceeding expectations. Took a chance on a “plastic fantastic” lens on sale, as I wanted a lightweight 35mm prime. To say the least my expectations were, um, managed. What a pleasant surprise when images from this modest lens absolutely blew me out of the water. Sharp from edge to edge, good color rendering, and almost weightless. Highly recommended. Wish Tamron would make a same-format 50mm f2.8. Based on this len’s performance, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Nitido
... show more
