  • Amazing for normal-to-large minis, good for tiny ones
With the myriad of plastic adhesives available to miniature painters, it took me trial-and-error and recommendations from more experienced people for me to finally try Tamiya Extra-Thin. I will admit, I was worried that it wouldn't work well with smaller models (the ones that are assembled from contact instead of by slotting together), but it worked very well, with the only difficulty being holding the small model parts firmly together while the cement sets. On normal sized models, this cement is a dream - getting into cracks without having to worry about over-application, while providing strong bonding in roughly 10-15 seconds. I will say that using such thin cement was more challenging with those models, so buyer beware, but the product itself works beautifully. The tiny brush applicator allows for exact placement of the cement, preventing ugly glue spots in undesired areas. From now on, I will sing the praises of Tamiya Extra-Thin to anyone and everyone who will listen, likely to the detriment of my inter-personal relationships. SO yes, I highly recommend Tamiya ET, and you should use this forever. (as other reviewers have mentioned, this product will not work on resin models, so make sure you know your model type before making this purchase) ... show more

  • The BEST product on the market!
Okay, for any model builder, wargamer, D&D or other RPG player, or anyone that wants to stick ABS plastic together. Buy this. Don’t shop around, don’t try something more expensive. Buy this one right here. It’s not glue. This does not stick your fingers together. This product melts ABS plastic and after evaporating, the plastic will return to very nearly perfect shape. I use it for miniatures. The extra bonus of a brush applicator lets me melt my mold lines away. You can even use a little bit of sprue to make a gap-filler. (Just search for sprue goo). ... show more

  • Very good glue
The glue is very good and yes it’s thin. No big gluppie glob mess here. The cap has a brush attached for easy application. You do not need a lot for it to work well. Dries clear. Be careful as the vapors are powerful, so use in a well ventilated area.

  • model glue
I like the glue very much. I use it to build all my models. I use it all the time.

  • Works perfectly on my miniature
I bought this instead of going with GW glue for my miniatures and have been very happy with my purchase. The GW glue I used to use often did not work very well and at times after letting it set for an hour or two, wouldn’t hold my miniatures together if I accidentally rough handled. The Tamiya Cement works much better and has better strength and is much easier to apply and control the area where it’s applied. Overall, I will continue using this product moving forward. ... show more

  • ONLY USE ON PLASTIC
I got this an was super disappointed. It felt like water. Didn't feel sticky at all. I used on a Resin Miniature and it was like water. BUT! I read up more about this product. IT ONLY WORKS ON PLASTIC. I used it for the Plastic Miniatures I had from Kingdom Death Monster, and wow, it is SUPER GOOD! It is not sticky! Instead, it used a chemical reaction to melt the plastic in place! It's amazing! The best thing to use for plastic miniatures! Just don't use it on anything else! ... show more

  • This stuff is the bee's knees.
I'm pretty new to miniature assembly and painting, and all I can say is, this stuff is a delight to work with. Pop the top, breathe innnnnnasd jafakgh;ohz asfarg (JOKING, PLEASE WEAR PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT IN A VENTILATED AREA), find the areas where the models will make contact, use the application brush to apply a thin layer, then push the models into place, hold firmly for about 20-30 seconds, blow on it if that makes you feel better, then release. It's good! You can apply another thin layer between the two pieces and hold again if you're afraid you didn't clean the adhesion sites as well as you think you did. This even works well with push-fit models, since those are prone to have little gaps even when you think you've pressed them in well enough; just apply a layer similarly to regular models and push HARDER, wait the same amount and then it's DEFINITELY gonna stay where you put it. With how thin this "cement" is, you can even take the brush to apply it to small gaps (it'll flow into the space between) and press the pieces together (push hard and hold!) and about 30 seconds later, the two pieces are effectively just one piece now. That's how this stuff works! Try to keep it off your digits, as your fingers and thumbs will leave fingerprint indentations into the model if they come in contact with the plastic while the cement is still active when you're holding the parts together. Try to use as little as you can get away with, and I can tell you this little bottle will easily carry you through hundreds and hundreds of miniature assemblies. The one part it's a bit dodgy on is applying miniature feet to the rough textured bases that come in Citadel kits; it's not a great seal and if you bang into the model in just the right way, it's probably gonna snap off. You could use superglue for that, but a pro tip would be to grab another bottle of this (that you're willing to "ruin"), find some safe storage for about a quarter of the bottle for run-off, and then CAREFULLY dissolve some sprue into the partial bottle of Thin Cement which will turn it sorta grey, making it "thicker" since it's got plastic goop in it, which you can then use to properly adhere the two differing plastics since there's more material to bond with. I'd do that for miniature-to-plastic bases. Any other bases and you're better off with superglue probably. Anyways, get this. Way better than superglue for miniature assembly, I'd wager. ... show more
