After years of buying Japanese color Tamagotchi, I'm so excited to have an English release (in the photo, the English ON's are the Pink Fairy and Purple Magic; the rest are Japanese releases)! The case I am using in the second picture is a GUND Pusheen the Cat Pusheenicorn pencil case! It's super cute, very soft, has a zipper for extra security, and holds 4 Japanese Tamagotchi. I cut out little foam circles to put between my Tamas for extra screen protection and the last two are just back to back. If you have a Japanese Tamagotchi Meets, this is exactly the same, just in English - including all the ways to unlock the different "towns". If you're new to the Meets/ ON, you need to know that you unlock Tamagotchi Sports Plaza (called the Gym in the ON) by visiting with two other Tamagotchi. This means unless you know two people also buying an ON, you need to buy at least TWO Tamagotchi ON. Here's what you'll need to do if you want to unlock Sports Plaza/ Gym yourself: Buy two Tamagotchi, for my example we'll assume you buy a Fairy and a Magic. Start up your Tamagotchi. After 1 hour, the babies will become toddlers. Now you will be able to travel around the town and *visit other tamagotchi by using the pink heart icon (Connection)* . On BOTH Tamagotchi, select the pink heart, choose Tamagotchi >Play Date. One Tamagotchi will go visit the other. Now choose one of your Tamagotchis to RESET. We'll assume you choose to reset the Magic Tamagotchi. Do this by holding down the push button on the back of the Tamagotchi. It will ask if you want to reset and if you're sure. Yes. Now you have a baby on the Magic and a Toddler on the Fairy. The Fairy will have recorded that you met one new friend. When the Magic baby becomes a toddler, visit the Fairy again by choosing Tamagotchi >Play Date. Now the Fairy will have recorded meeting TWO friends. When the play date is over, on your Fairy Tamagotchi, go to the Item Box> Item and choose the BALL. A special animation will play and you will have unlocked the GYM ! :D But now how do you get the Gym in your Magic?.... You will again choose the pink heart on both Tamagotchi. But now choose Tamagotchi> TRAVEL. You want the Fairy to INVITE and the Magic to VISIT. On the Fairy, invite to the GYM. The Tamagotchis will both go to the GYM and play. When Magic returns home, a ticket will come floating from the sky and unlock the GYM in the Magic! This works for all unlocked destinations in one tamagotchi to unlock them in a second. It doesn't have to be a Magic to a Fairy. It can be Magic to Magic, Fairy to Fairy, whatever :) ... show more

It took me 3 days to finally decide to spend a whole $65 on this (we a broke college student...I, a clown). I never had a Tamagotchi when I was a kid bc my parents never let me so now that I'm an adult I decided why not it's what 7 year old me deserves !! I ordered the fairy blue one & it came to me in perfect condition :-) Despite the fact that I'm probably gonna be eating air with a side of water for the next 2 weeks I recommend getting it esp if u never owned one as a kid like me :') ... show more

I was very excited for the release of an English color Tamagotchi and am very happy to finally have one in my hands, except, well, it looks very used. It looks like someone took a needle and scratched the ever loving hell out of the screen, two of these scratches are deep and very noticeable even with the screen turned on and can be a bit distracting. Aside from it's outer condition, it at least it works fine, and if you don't mind beat up looking devices, it's a very entertaining little toy. Just hoping mine was a fluke and no one else ends up with one that looked like this. ... show more

It's hard to say if this will appeal more to nostalgic 90s kids or actual kid-kids, but as someone who hasn't touched a Tamagotchi in two decades, I'm amazed by how far this little virtual pet has come. Kids these days get all the cool toys. Despite all the talk of nostalgia, this ain't your millennial's Tamagotchi. The backlit color screen is a huge upgrade, and all the animations are incredibly varied and charming. The traditional three buttons might be a bit unwieldy in a world that runs on touch screens, and it'd be great if you could recharge the thing without using batteries, but those are minor complaints. Whereas the original Tamagotchi was all about keeping your pet alive as long as possible and getting a certain character at the end, with the On, there is no end. You can marry your tama to other characters you meet, or connect with someone else's Tamagotchi either in person or on the companion app. You follow the offspring through generations, creating an adorable virtual legacy. A huge part of the fun is finding out what the babies grow up to look like. There are games to play, areas to unlock, marriage partners to woo, a bunch of stuff to buy, and hey, your pet even gets a pet of its own that can have babies too. You still have to feed, play with, and bathe the little guy just like in the old days, but there's just so much more to do than clean up poop this time around--and your tama won't die if you look away for five seconds. ...Unless mine's dead right now. ... show more

This thing is super cute and a great upgrade from the one I had when I was a kid. Before ya'll rush out and get these for yourself or your kids, be aware that it does not come with batteries. You need to supply your own AAA batteries and for some reason they did away with the easier to remove battery casing of the other versions. You need a very, very small screwdriver to open the case. None of my normal screwdrivers worked. I had to use one of the special drill bits from my power drill. I didn't use the drill itself. I just took the bit out of the case it was in with the others and used it by hand since it looked to be about the right size. So yeah. If you're anxious to own one, or you have a child that's looking forward to getting this for their birthday or whatever, be prepared in advance. It does not work right out of the box. Look up the back of the toy to make sure you'll have a way to unscrew the battery casing beforehand. Anyway, the toy itself is cute and I can't wait to connect it to the app. :) ... show more

I've owned the Tamagotchi P in the past and was so excited to hear about the Meets/On coming to America. I was disappointed to see that my tamagotchi came with some light scratches on the outer back shell and a some markings on the screen, despite it being new.
