My brush pen doesn’t really bleed thru the pages but you can make out a faint silhouette if you stare hard enough. I wanted a tiny book to keep in my travel bag because I really only have time to draw when I'm on the move... So far this little one has taken pencil and watercolors like a champ! Paper buckled like crazy after the watercolors, but the dampening the back of the page, putting some parchment paper around the page (to protect the other pages) and sticking the whole book under some heady stuff for a while did the trick and smoothed it right out! The paper is textured though so you don't want to be erasing a ton or rubbing it a lot when wet. Treat it gently and it'll serve ya well.     • Versatile art book!

I use this book as an art journal. It has good paper and is able to be used with a variety of media. It is great for pencils, acrylic and gouache paint. It will take watercolor as long as you don’t use excessive amounts of water. It is very sturdy. Overall an excellent value.

Perfect for sketching, color pencils, and possibly tomboy markers but not intense markers. It's a great size for traveling, but it's not good for watercolor paints. it quickly crinkles and doesn't take in the paint.
