I don't usually write reviews. Writing one for this sprayer is a notable exception. I bought the sprayer to stain a fence in our yard that separates the lawn from the dog run. I ordered this sprayer primarily because I have many other Ryobi battery tools and thus already had the batteries to power it. Boy was I surprised! Over the three days I used the sprayer its operation was flawless. Setting the device to adjust the flow rate and angle of spray was simple. The sprayer was easy to disassemble and effortless to clean. My only complaint would be the battery life - but that's a problem of the small Ryobi One+ batteries used. A bigger battery would increase operating time, but it would also significantly add to the weight. It was a minor issue to quickly switch out a completely charged battery every 20-30 minutes of continuous spraying - I have three of them. Seldom have I found a purchased product to live up to and exceed my expectations. Such is the case with this neat sprayer. I highly recommend it!

THIN YOUR PAINTS. got this because i wanted a more portable paint sprayer. this is it however it does not spray well with paints rated without thinner at .015" at 2000psi. painting with dutchboy durahide it will work poorly without thinning. however using flowtruel thinner in the recommended proportions make it work so much better. battery life without thinning the paint is also disappointing but becomes much better once the paint is thinned. cleaning is fine so long as you do clean it while the paint is still wet and there arent really any parts that come into contact with paint that arent easily gotten too. overal so long as you know how to use a spray gun this isnt much of a departure but you might still need to go for a thinner paint that you would otherwise.

Absolutely loved using this sprayer. I already had the Ryobi 18v batteries (4 of them). I had a pretty big playground project to paint for my kids. This helped me get the first layer of paint on it. I first brushed and rolled primer but the sprayer was to get into the crevices and corners that were hard to reach with a brush. Keep in mind this is a handheld so we had to add pure water (such as distilled water) to the paint to dilute it or else some paints are too thick and it won’t spray well. We took a bit to perfect the dilution but once it did it helped make the product fly by really quickly. I plan to use this sprayer for my kitchen cabinet makeover project in a few weeks! Great value and easy cleanup of the paint holder and nozzles. Very easy to use. 5 out of 5 stars. Just make sure you have plenty of the ryobi 18v batteries charged up as you will go through them if you have a big project that takes all day. Looks great too cuz it matches my ryobi tools even though it’s not actual ryobi brand.

The product arrived on time without any damage but upon checking the product, I could see there were some scratches here and there raising concerns if I got a used one or not. But that was not a deal breaker for me as I have a couple of paint jobs to finish. However, upon using the sprayer, I could see paint leaking from the trigger a couple of times. This is not consistent but it's a disturbing factor. On the other end, I saw dust had accumulated on the back side so I tried to perform a cleanup by removing the sponge filter. Upon a single soft wash, I could see the sponge I setting to tear off which is not a good sign. I checked to see if any extra filters came along with this one but there isn't. Overall, this sprayer could be a good product if they could fix these issues. Unfortunately, due to these challenges, I need to initiate a return of mine.

If you are spraying something thin like deck stain or cheaper paint with less solids it’s perfection. Wanted this to be the be all end all for trim painting it’s not quite that as I find it quicker with similar results just getting a nice brush with a smoothing agent. But honestly with the amount of kid projects I do and fencing and random stuff for neighbors it’s incredible and paid for itself many times over - cleaning is easy too not too many small holes if you use the 3 mil sprayer for the thinner paints. I use an hp battery in it does seem to make a difference but also used regular 4 ah and it was comparable. I treat it gentle and nice and it rewards me - for deck stain and stuff I prefer to back brush but wanted a pic from Latest project to demonstrate. Happy hunting.

It sprays paint but..... I got this because I did not want to get out the big airless sprayer for a small job and thought this would do the trick. The problem I had trying to spray interior latex. I thinned the paint per instructions. When trying to spray it would dribble and shoot a stream when starting until enough flow to actually atomize the paint. Then it sprayed very good. When you released the trigger to stop spraying the afore mentioned dribble and stream shot out. This dripped and dribbled down the wall and the front of the sprayer making a huge mess. I tired unthinned paint and varioud ratios in between. I would get either poor spray pattern but always got the dribble. I tried to live with that as it did spray satisfactory otherwise. The next problem was the paint would dry almost immediately on the spray nozzle due to the paint build up and the high volocity of air flowing over the small holes in the spray nozzle. This made the dripping and drizzle more pronounced. The pait cup does not hold enough paint for anything but the smallest job. I had to refill 4 times to paint a 12' x 8' wall. It took longer to stop and clean the nozzle and refill with paint than if I had just used a brush and roller. Clean up took a very long time to disassemble and clean all the small parts. I could claean a brush and roller in a fraction of the time. I would not recommend this for anything but small jobs. Trying to paint anything like a bedroom would take too long if you have to stop and clean it between paint cup refills.

I've had several of these entry level (Cheap) paint sprayers over the years. I was intriqued by this one over the price and that it's battery operated. You definitely need to water down the paint and you need to use the high amp batteries. I use Ryobi batteries. The mid sized nozzle ran a little bit splotchy. I moved down the fine nozzle and it worked well. Took a little longer, but a nice finish. The greatest thing the sprayer was the clean up. It was a breeze. I always use paint bags, which saves the clean up of the cup. I used a straw cleaner for the tube. The internal sprayer doesnt take up much real estate. I put it in the mop sink and just ran hot water through it. It's not perfect, but for the price, the fact that it's cordless and easy clean up...... I'm pretty happy.
