This watch is absolutely perfect. It has a timeless, classic elegance, making it just right for any occasion. This can be your everyday watch or a going out watch. Looks great with jeans or a suit. The only downside we've noticed so far is that it stops if not worn for 12 hours or so. Self-winding watches should be ok for about 48 hours off the wrist, when fully wound. It's possible that it hasn't been fully wound, will update once we have it on the watch winder for a bit. ... show more

I bought this from a jewelry store after reading several horror stories from Amazon buyers and their lack of help when problems arose. I paid a bit more, but it was worth it for piece of mind. A watch like this can last forever if you care for it, and it's important to buy it from an authorized retailer so they can educate you on the care associated with a quality automatic timepiece. I love the band on this watch the most. The link is separated in the center and folds very slightly to conform to the wrist. The link comes in different sizes and includes one half link to ensure a perfect fit. Despite the weight, which is one minor draw-back of an automatic watch, it almost feels like you are not wearing a watch at all. The watch keeps very good time; it gains about 3-4 seconds per day. The calibere 5 movement, which is an ETA 2834, is tried and true. They are used by a number of manufacturers, and ETA currently produces more Swiss ebauches than any other company. The watch face looks black as advertised and appeared black in the jewelers case as well. In fact under certain light, especially fluorescent, it appears as a striking incandescent blue! The exhibition case-back is also a wonderful plus allowing the owner to view the movement. The only negative to this watch is the high polished steel bezel. It looks beautiful, but it scratches easily. A good jeweler can polish the surface scratches out when the watch is in for cleaning and lubrication.
