Polyester/spandex shorts, not my favorite fabric combo, I prefer it to have some cotton (the more the better) and based on the size chart I had to size up (I have generous hips) but they are comfortable, with an elastic waistband, and pockets, and even though I'm sometimes size Large in shorts, these XLarge fit perfectly. The quintessential athleisure short is light, comfortable and snazzy looking. Refined enough to wear out and about, while still looking casual and being easy to care for. That's precisely what these shorts are, and these will perform equally well on the trail, in the gym, in the grocery store, or on the tennis court. The zippers with tied pulls and the aglets at each end of the drawstring are nice finishing touches. The cut is flattering. Sizing is true. I almost always wear a medium and these fit perfectly in size medium. The only drawback might be the front pockets. It's nice that they're large enough to fit a cell phone, but when you lift a leg or sit, the pocket with the cell phone will extend well beyond the leg of the shorts, sticking out in sort of an awkward way. So, the deep, convenient pockets come at an aesthetic cost. Pocket issue notwithstanding, I'll wear these shorts often. ... show more

First I wanna say, I was super impressed by the quality of these shorts! The fabric is a really nice lightweight quick drying blend (upf 50+!) that feels like something I'd buy for a lot more $ at REI. The navy is a lovely color & I love the 2 zip hip pockets and 1 back zip pocket. The drawstring is handy to have, and I feel that the size is true to size/true to size chart. I am typically an XS and bought a S, the smallest size. They are comfy with a little room but not oversized. Now the downside, and I frankly didn't expect anything more, is that they are frumpy. They are staunchly athletic shorts and no amount of adjusting is gonna make them very cute lol. They're very middle-aged hiker who wants quick access to their bug spray and trail mix. These shorts are so comfortable! Honestly; they feel light as a feather. We have very hot summers and I exercise daily, so having shorts of a very breathable, lightweight material is imperative. The Tacvasen athletic shorts are exactly what I was looking for. They absorb moisture quickly and are UPF 50+, making them perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities. They have a form fitting elastic waist and aren’t tight at all. The shorts' fabric is polyester and spandex and they are machine washable. The shorts have three pockets (two on the side and one in back) that zip up, which is really convenient; since I’m always dropping stuff out of pockets. Keys, etc. will now be secure. I would recommend having at least several pairs of these shorts on hand for the summer! ... show more

The material of these shorts is nice, and the sizing overall is true to size I’d say. But the fit is very awkward. Oddly tight-ish in the thigh area but also just kind of long and narrow overall. No real room for hips but my butt fits fine, just odd on overall fit. Definitely not flattering. They are light though and I like the pockets and again the material is very nice. I got these shorts to wear with my Cub Scouts leader uniform, since they're pretty close in color and the official ones never fit right. These shorts are quite nice. They're lightweight, look great and fit true to size. The pockets are big enough to hold a proper phone and the material is that quick-dry stuff which is great when working with kids.
