For kids toys, it is cool and perfectly fine. So I gave it 5 stars because it was marketed that way. But it definitely wouldn’t hold up long to anything like Airsoft or real world use. So, still 5 stars, but don’t get it expecting to possibly use the mounts for real world.

First off, they look good. They latch on to a helmet properly and securely. The hinge to lift them up and down in front of your eyes works well. They do not feel flimsy for what they are. Hollow plastic decoration. The downside is that they are easy to unhook from your helmet. A slit jar or touch will move the latching mechanism and it will fall out of the helmet bracket with ease. The NODS themselves are not see through. When deployed down in front of your eyes you cannot see through them in any way. Not clear plastic. Not shaded like sunglasses, no. COMPLETELY OPAQUE. When they are down in front of your eyes you are completely blinded by them and you cannot see. This makes them almost unusable. Even just a clear or shaded plastic that can be seen through would be usable, these are not. They look the part though, so as long as you are taking static pictures for cosplay or not moving at all you are fine. ... show more

This is a great example of the importance of reading the product description carefully. I saw "night vision," "power cord," and "power box" and got excited, lol. What I didn’t notice was that it said "no function." The Gayontech binocular night vision is just a dummy model for use in a costume. If you're into cosplay, these do look realistic. It's hard for me to rate them based on functionality, but I'd give them 3 stars for their authentic appearance. ... show more
