This stand is sturdy. It's made of thick aluminum, not the thin pliable kind. It has a little weight to it. I use it at work for my iPhone 6S Plus with an Otterbox Defender Case. Since the Otterbox case is thick, it doesn't sit in the cradle of the stand; it sits on top of it. I would need to take the Otterbox case off in order for my phone to sit in the cradle. But the stand is so sturdy, I don't mind how my phone sits on it. I can easily text my wife without having to pull the iPhone off the stand without rocking it in any way. I also tried it on my iPad Air 1 with an Otterbox Defender Case aswell. It also is too thick to sit in the cradle of the stand, but sits on top of it. Although it does this, the stand holds the iPad very well. The stand and iPad remain sturdy when placed long-ways (the long edge of the iPad sits on the cradle). If you place the iPad on its short end, on the cradle, the center of gravity is too high. It is easily tipped over. My pictures include the stand cradling my old iPhone 4S. Notice how it sits on the cradle, not in it. It would be nice if the cradle allows for more room in order to accommodate cases. It only will allows for naked phones. Also, if you have a case, the power cord me not be able to be inserted into your phone depending on the location on your phone. The inlet at the bottom is big enough, but that bar in the middle gets in the way. Otherwise, it's a pretty sturdy stand, and for the price, it's a good deal. I'm willing work with the cradle because the stand is well made. I ordered another one for the home office, and one for the kitchen table.

I received the tablet stand promptly and am very pleased with the sturdiness of the unit. I bought the Rose Gold, which is a very delicate metallic shimmery pink with a soft under glow and very elegant looking. Tried it out on my HD10" Fire and it held the position whether I had the holder positioned straight up & down, angled or laying back and it held securely with the tablet in both landscape and portrait positions. The rotation has many positions for your needs. It has a base with a rubber/soft plastic type of slightly sticky feeling non-skid material that keeps it securely in place as well as a similar type material at the bottom of the curved holder and behind it so the tablet doesn't slide around on the countertop or in the holder. It does take a good pull to pick up the base, but doesn't damage whatever it's on, so no fears with glass, tile, granite or other materials. I haven't tried it on wood, but if it's finished, I don't see how it could do any damage there, either. The only slight issue is for Fire tablet owners in that in order to plug in the charger while in the portrait position, you either have to have the Fire offset or turned over, as the plug-in is at the side by the power switch, not in the center area & not accessible via the cut out at the bottom of the stand. Putting it offset for charging from the bottom does not appear to endanger the stability of the Fire, though, so no reason to dock a star. When in landscape, there's no issue as the plug in will be on the side. All and all a very good unit and I recommend highly!

This is a great iPad stand and holder. I have tried so many and this one is by far my favorite and the best yet. It isn't a big stand by any means and yet it is mighty in performance. I really like how easy it is to adjust at any angle easily without having to screw any knobs but instead it stays at any angle securely just by tilting it up or down. It also has a very nice bottom that actually sticks to the table surface and doesn't move. The quality is excellent and the price is worth every penny. This mighty little stand is good for any size tablet and yes even the iPad pro size. I am currently typing easily while tipping it upward at a really nice angle and I love that it can charge the pad easily in the stand. I plan to use my blu tooth keyboard with my pad and it will sit nicely under the iPad when not in use for a very nice and neat look. This also will be great to use when watching videos or when using the iPad as my cookbook. It was very well thought out and I am glad that Amazon carried it. I love Amazon for having so many choices and making it easy to find just what I'm looking for. This stand would make a perfect gift since just about everyone has a pad of some kind now and would always have a use for it.

Definitely sturdy weight, tablet will be safe. The cradle rotates with the right amount of tension. Like that the cords can be plugged into the tablet, but then can be tucked out of the way. Recommend!
