Nice set, I agree with others that setup blocks are so much easier, faster and more accurate than using a ruler or tape measure. Checked one or two with a caliper, they were accurate. If you're using them for woodworking, and worried about 1 or 2 thousandths of an inch, your woodworking is way more precise than mine. I like the storage box, but agree with others that the foam is tighter than it needs to be, making them somewhat difficult to get out - especially the little skinny ones. But they're solid, accurate, and have multiple measure points on each block, making them more useful than some other designs. ... show more

    • Very nice blocks, equally bad case.
Very nice set indeed! One thing to note is the thickness of each of these blocks is the same as the nominal size. Once you get to the smaller sizes you must either hold in place or be extremely careful not to bump or disturbthem. They will fall if you do, possibly damaging the block. Measured each of these atmultiple points and found them accurate to .0007", well within their stated tolerance. The angles are as close as can be seen by naked eye, but I cannot say the level of accuracy without using an optical comparitor which I no longer own. My feeling is they will exceed any accuracy needed in even the finest woodworks. Easy to read as long as you avoid glare - white printing on red anodized satin finish can be a problem at times. They are relatively sturdy, but do remember aluminum is easily scratched by steel or other metal edges. I set the open case on my workbench rather casually, and when I bumped the bench, case slid off and spilled the 3/4" block onto a (thankfully) vinyl plank floor. Block was not damaged in any way. I don't recommend the experiment! And that bringss me to the only five star lacking feature. The case is just not even close to the tool quality. It is a typical cheaply made plastic single shell with what is actually a decent foam insert. The latches slide aside to release the lid, and one of them kept on sliding right off the case and into an unknown dimension where it will never be found again. The top foam was not glued to the top inside of the case , and also fell onto the workbench. There is no bottom foan in the case at all, The two largest blocks are stacked one on top of another at one end of the case. The others are wedged so tightly into too narrow and too short foam cutouts, and it was a real chore to remove any individual block unless you pulled them all out starting from large to small until you reach your goal. It is sad to find such a nice and useful tool presented in such a shabby format. My advice and solution is buy this tool, and throw out the case immediately. Store these in your own home-made case, or in a felt lined box with soft dividers which actually fit the tool. RECOMMENDED for tool value and quality, but not for the storage presented. ... show more

Well packed and a nice box. They won't bounce around. If anything they store a little too snug, but better that than loose. Sizes are accurate and cover just about anything you need. Solid aluminum. Good purchase from my perspective.

Nicely packaged & accurate measurements. Love the multiple dimensions that can be used on each block. Very convenient. Only complaint is the case is fairly flimsy, but has held up well with careful use

Great set of setup blocks. Very accurate, great for router and table saw setup. 4 ways to use for measurement, angles on the end of each block are different and accurate. Very versatile. Not crazy about the container they are in, but it works. Great price for a very good set of blocks.
