  • Accurate & Expanded Set Both In Pieces & Features -- Small Tip Below At The Bottom
Comfylichi Table Setup Blocks for Woodworking, 14pcs --- This may not be the most refined set-up block set I've ever seen or had but just might be the most accurate, extensive and full featured. For me at first glance these didn't seem as finished or refined as some I've seen. More square edged and blocky than the chamfered or rounded over edges of some popular brands. Now with that out of the way and this tool in hand.. these are dead on accurate and are more capable than any others I've seen and have. See my pictures for caliper measurements of the 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4". For starters there's more of them (14 to be exact).. several more fractional sizes then you usually get. So a more complete set which makes them more help in practice. There's a 23/32nd which 3/4 plywood usually is.. but I've never seen set-up blocks with this size. Next there's more function to these in that most sets only have the given measurements in the bottom offset and then one end has a tail that's the given length and height. Each of these are also the thickness of given measurements. So instead of all being 1/4" thick the 3/4" is actually 3/4" thick which makes the tales squared in that measurement... Such as 3/4" x 3/4". Lastly, and I've seem some have this before, they all have a different degree of angle measurement on one end. Such as the 3/4" has the end at 45 degree and could set a table blade angle. My older set only had 7 PCs 1/8 through 1/2" on 16th inch increments where this set doubles it with full thickness and angles on one end. So I'm looking forward to the added benefits as I use them all the time. Nice Set 5-Stars **Edited -- To add a quick tip -- The last 6 or 7 smallest blocks on the far right side of the case.. these are short enough they sit below the surface of the foam and it makes them extremely difficult to get out. If you'll cut some 1/8 inch dowel rod the length of the slots (or anything around that size) and push them to the bottom of the slots as you put those bars back in it'll keep those setting above the surface making them much, much easier to take in and out. The last and smallest one on the right (1/16 I think) won't need one as it'll be much tighter with the others in place.. just friction fit it in. (Added a picture showing this) Worked great for me and is quick and easy to do, just thought I would share the idea. ... show more

  • Nice Setup Block Set in Cheesy Case
I haven't used setup tools before, but these are very solid, well made units that can be used separately or in combinations to handle most situations you'll meet on a table saw or on a router. It makes repeating setups easy and accurate no matter what machines you're working on. While I am impressed with the quality of the blocks themselves, I'm not nearly as happy with the case they came in. The set would be very much improved if the case were not a thin, wobbly affair with closures that will definitely break with use over time. I already fashioned a web belt to go around the case to prevent it from flexing and opening up unexpectedly. So, bottom line is the blocks are very good and the container they come in-not so much. Still, the set is worth the money especially if you're doing fine cabinet work or going to work on tools you're not familiar with. ... show more

  • Light, Solid and Precise
I do some woodworking and find myself doing practice cuts on both my table saw and router to ensure I have the proper depth set. So I got these to help make that setup process easier. I have not used setup block before, but did research them. I saw some made of plastic. I prefer these aluminum blocks, since they would not be bothered by temp nor get nicked accidently and thus changing the measurement. I found them light and easy to work with. The holes allow you to screw them lightly in place if you need to stack two or more to repeat a thickness. I measured a couple of the blocks with my calipers and there were spot on their marked measurements. The white lettering on the blocks makes it easy to see the markings and they appear to be laser etched in. I can feel the grove on the longer lines. So I suspect the writing will not wear off. The case is cheap and I would have preferred an actual hinged case with a better latch. I suspect I will be replacing it in the future (perhaps using the block to build a new home for them). The foam is a bit too deep for the thinner/shorter blocks. I will cut about ¾” slot across the ends to allow my finger to get down and pry them out on an angle. Summary: I am very pleased with these aluminum blocks. They are simple to use, easy to read and come with a case to keep them organized. The case could use an upgrade, but I bought these for the tools, so they still receive 5 stars. ... show more

  • A great kit to have for accurate blade/bit depth and height adjustments.
Recently I upgraded the garage shop with a new BOSH router and table. I’ve had a couple small projects that I’ve used them on and am excited to get into more projects. This kit of router height/depth setup blocks is perfect for getting the set at just the right height for any given project. Having all “the right tools” for the job, is the name of the game. Having recently upped my routing game with the new router and table, I’m feeling pretty good about getting into areas of wood work that I have not been able to venture yet as I was not equipped. Having these depth adjustment measuring blocks are a very welcome addition to the shop. the are easy to use, and make for accurate cuts. These can also be used for height and depth of blade cuts on the circular saws and the awesome DeWALT table saw and miter saws out in the shop. The setup blocks are all very well marked as to their given measurement. Also, they are all each the same thickness as the measurement that they are. This set comes in a plastic case with dense foam inside with cutouts for the setup blocks. The case does have an issue with the small clips that latch it coming off. However, the blocks themself are fantastic. There are 14 different blocks for most any measurement that might be required. Each block also has a different angle cut at each end, providing measurement reference for exact angles for marking or cutting material. Overall this is a great kit to have for accurate blade and bit depth and height adjustments. ... show more
