Description

T-H Marine Motor Stik outboard motor support sticks provide a compact, effective way to support your outboard while trailering. By bracing the motor on its trim rams, they help reduce stress on the hydraulic tilt system and transom compared to towing with the engine unsupported. Each stick measures 8.5 inches long and uses strong aluminum tubing with molded ends for reliable performance in marine conditions. This pair is intended for use on most 150hp and larger outboards that use exposed trim rams. They slide over the rams to create a solid brace between the motor and bracket, giving you a low-profile alternative to bulky transom saver bars. The durable construction stands up well to repeated use in both salt and fresh water, and many boaters rely on this style of support for everyday towing and longer highway runs. For best results, verify trim-ram length and clearances on your engine and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. On Yamaha models with a grease fitting on the port-side ram, a single Motor Stik should be used on the starboard ram only. These sticks are not compatible with 2024 Mercury outboards. Install before trailering, remove before launching, and you have a simple way to help protect your outboard investment.

I have a 2018 Yamaha 200 and yes it's not a perfect fit but it works. I take it slide it on the port piston only( have the other as a spare for now) and start trimming down the motor as it gets close I then push the brace up on the motor and then trim it down. You have to play with when to lift it up cause it will get bound up if to early and the chip the plastic if not at all. ... show more

These work great on my new Suzuki outboard. I have no doubt they will last longer than my motor. Mark the top somehow so you don't try to put them on upside down.

These are absolute garbage. I saw other posts about the top cap cracking but I figured maybe it was user error. Nope, first use and the black plastic ring cracked. Why they would not use rubber is beyond me but these sticks are a waste of money. Wish I could get a refund.

    • 2008 yamaha 2 stroke motor.
This will not work on a 2008, 2 stroke Yamaha as purchased. If you have a little common sense all you have to do is pop the plastic piece off of one end and cut it down a couple of inches to make it work. Then pop the plastic right back in and you will be good to go. I also drilled a rubber flask stopper out and put it over the trim cylinder shaft to absorb trailer shock and it works like a charm. Rubber goes between the stick and the bottom on the cylinder side so it can't come off in tow. You can cut it down to whatever length you want according to where you like your motor to sit. It would have been way too high for my liking as delivered even if it would have worked. I'm hoping to help someone avoid my mistakes. I tried the original "my wedge" (which is identical to the yamaha brand) and it would not work and you can't cut it down. If you want to try the wedge thing that pops in the tilt cylinder then you'll probably be disappointed like me because it makes the motor sit all the way up in the raised position. Might as well just use the factory lock on the motor if you like it that high. This is for a Yamaha 2 stroke 2008 model motor on an 1860 G3. I can't speak for any other makes or model boats or motor supporting devices. Hopefully I've helped somebody out. As far as the product after my mods - I'm happy. I give it 3 stars only because I had to change the original product and that may turn someone else away. I cut it with a metabo. A hacksaw would work but it is heavy walled tubing so it will be labor intensive if that is the route you choose. ... show more
