These work really well and they are practically silent, having just a very, very faint buzz. I bought multiple ones for different spaces because the frequency does not go through walls very well. I have one in the garage, several in the basement and one in the attic. After about the first week and a half, I heard no more cave crickets. I occasionally saw a few in the basement and they behaved very out of character, like they were drugged. They moved much more slowly and they were easier to step on. After less than a month, I have none. I have not heard or seen any mice; I think it was because I installed the device before they started coming in this fall. I saw changes with insects within days and the situation just kept improving. I’ve noticed no flies in the house now either. So these do take a few weeks to have a full effect on critters. It makes sense that the larger a pest is, the longer it takes, less for house flies, a bit more time for crickets and mice. I wish I had found these years ago!

It is a bit loud I do have dogs so I don’t keep it on the highest but it seems the noise I heard is gone from outside so I’m very hopeful that it’s all I needed to get rid of the little squirrel that was bothering our house
