It holds the wife with no problem. I'm doubting the max weight limit. Really don't want to test it out and fall on our backs. The rounds caps on the upright posts were busted up like someone dropped them on their ends. Not a big deal, usually big box hardware stores have caps for sale. All in all the wife loves it.
