I use these lights for seed starting. I get excellent coverage across a 2'x4' seed starting matt with 4x 10x20 trays. I measured the PPFD and these lights are plenty strong enough to get your plants started properly. There are many similar looking lights on the market but these actually put out some decent photons. I liked them so much I bought another pair. One thing, the instructions above say these lights came with a protective film on them. Mine did not and as a result of how they were packaged the plastic splash protector was slightly scratched during the shipping process. Not enough to make me want to return the light but it wasn't what I wanted to see out of the box. I've been using these lights for 2 weeks and have no concerns on heat output or quality. I'll update my review if anything happens. *UPDATE* I placed an order and received a second set of these lights. This set also had the same scratched plastic shield as the first set. There is no protective cover. This is disappointing because I really do like these lights. ... show more

The light itself is good and I especially like that visually it's white light, not pink or yellow. However, I've had some issues: (1) I was unsuccessful at daisy-chaining two lights (although they work perfectly fine with separate power sources), (2) The hanging brackets aren't secure, a slight nudge can cause the light to come crashing down, and (3) The power cables also don't seat securely, it's easy to partially unseat them. Now that they're set up they seem to be fine, but you have to be very careful when working around them and I have a concern that one day the hanging brackets will spontaneously release. ... show more

This provides good, full spectrum light and plenty of it. Very easy to set up: everything you need is in the kit. My kitchen garden herbs have perked up and seem happy. I'm looking forward to starting tomatoes and peppers early this coming year.
