The mattress looks to be good quality. When I opened the package there was no smell. And to be honest I thought it was going to be just like the reviews nice and soft. Yeah it’s nice and soft when you push on it with your hand at edges of the bed. But when you go to lay on the bed. You realize yeah it’s not so soft. Yes it is softer than other bed in a box mattress. But i definitely have to purchase a mattress topper. I did order a pillow topper the same time I ordered the green tea bed. And it’s not enough. If you get back pain from the other bed in a box mattress. You will from this one too. So just keep that in mind when thinking of ordering a bed in a box. The only bed in a box I know that are nice and soft is after you have had them for years. Because I seen a review on this one saying it was sleeping on a cloud. I looked at several others. And decided on this one because of the reviews. One thing I can say is it is a lot lighter than some of the other bed in a box mattress. I only gave it 4 starts for the quality and because it didn’t have a smell and it’s light weight. And because I got it at a good price. But overall it’s a good mattress. Perfect fit, nice and plush. I used the dryer for 20 minutes before on low heat to fluff it up and it’s very nice. My mattress is very hard because I have several herniated vertebrae in my lower back and it can get very uncomfortable. It's pretty firm so far but also very comfortable (If you don't like firmness then I would not suggest). Bought this 8 inch mattress in full size for my toddler's first big boy bed. He nurses to sleep still, so I wanted it to be big enough to fit the both of us and comfortable enough that if I fell asleep on it with him I wouldn't wake up sore. I think this mattress is perfect. Expanded quickly, was almost completely expanded in an hour. Left it overnight and it's fully expanded now. Firm enough that I don't need to worry about my toddler sinking in too much, soft enough that it's extremely comfortable for me. Very supportive as well, I have a bad back and struggle to get comfortable to sleep sometimes but I was able to get very comfortable very quickly with this mattress. The 8" mattress height is perfect for our Montessori bed, which is 23" tall. He will not be able to fall out on accident. ... show more
