It comes ready to be installed in less than 5 minutes; turn the switch off & just remove the old lighting, connect the black w black white w white wires no grounding needed; select the type of illumination you want, I like bright day light in my walkin closet. Use the two screws to fix the base plate to the ceiling. you are down. I did not need to use dimmer function for my closet. I have a 100 year old house with 1 finished ceiling in a room in the basement. Inside this room, an old, recessed box light was installed in the finished ceiling. To remove the box would have left a 12" x 12" hole in the drywall, requiring significant repair... in the basement of an old house. I decided to look for another solution. Here it is! The installation ring that comes with this light could be mounted directly to the drywall ceiling around the hole for the recessed box. I installed a metal, electrical box in the ceiling and connected quick connectors to install the light. The light literally slides into the installation ring, and my ceiling hole is gone! The light is big, bright, and thin, which is important in the dark basement with low ceilings. Throwing a lot of light, I can now see corners of the room that were too dark to really see before. I'm removing a star simply because the light is too expensive for the plastic construction. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the new light. ... show more

Do not love these. Difficult to install and no matter what I do, they leave a gap between the fixture and the ceiling. There is no possible way to get a flush mount. This is not a user/installation error - this is a product error. Ended up throwing them away and buying something else that does actually flush mount. ... show more
