The SwissGear Sion Expandable Spinner Luggage Collection features a locking push/pull handle system and four 360-degree spinner wheels for superior mobility. It was nice to see a handle on the side as the Samsonite one I bought didn't and it was annoying to get mine to the overhead without a handle while this one with a handle made maneuvering a whole lot easier. PROTIP: 2 carry on this size is bigger than 1 check in full size. Oh, the additional pockets in the front came in handy for putting readily available paperwork when traveling. I used the suitcase for a 2 week trip to Germany in the late spring, when the weather can be iffy. I had plenty of room for my stuff. I had a plane change and a train ride on the way to my destination, so I needed to be able to handle my own luggage. I wanted a nice carry-on piece of luggage. So far I've checked it in more than I've carried it because I have an expanded and it's usually quite full. If you don't use the expander and don't fill it up as much as I do, yes it's a perfectly nice carry-on. This is a basic, well made, piece of luggage. I decided to spend a bit of money on a quality suitcase for my international vacation a month ago and am so happy with this purchase. I've never bought luggage before in my life but am happy I own this now. There is so much room inside with individual compartments to store belongings. I bought the black carry-on and the larger size luggage suitcase and had my bags checked at the airport. I was expecting the black to show signs of dirt but was pleasantly surprised at how clean they seemed. My parents bought the grey ones from the same brand and told me there's got dirty after their first trip, so I am glad I went with the black. I found this on sale before an international trip and took a chance. It made it on a 14 day trip with lots of walking with this in tow. The wheels are nice. Not as nice as my samsonite spinner but at half the price it’s still good. The handle seemed a bit flimsy. It feels like longevity will be an issue. The fabric feels similar to the samsonite. At half the price it was good for some travel. However, if you’re an avid traveler, stick with a nicer brand like samsonite. ... show more

This bag held up well and packed well—the wheels were not the best. They did not break, but compared to several different brands of bags I pulled for other family members on our three weeks in Europe, they were not as fluid or smooth.     • Nice lightweight basic carry on luggage

I purchased this brand several years ago and was amazed at how durable it was after years of travel abuse. I am hoping this is as good as my old one. It has one trip to it's credit with cars, taxi's, airplanes and ferries. It barely looks like it has been used. There are two interior pockets on the suitcase and one of the interior flap that provided some organization, otherwise it is unpartitioned. The handle retracts nicely but is a little jerky, but held up through a busy trip. The wheels are good but it does not flow on the ground as smoothly as my larger much more expensive suitcase. (mainly I noticed this in elevators as it was not as easy to turn in small spaces) For the price it was fine. It endured steps, escalators and varied terrain from smooth sidewalks to rugged metal moving docks on the ferry. I purchased it in blue to stand out in baggage claim. There were a few blue suitcases but only one this color (luckily they'd tied a ribbon on so I could tell it wasn't mine) so it was set apart a bit from the typical black suitcase. I recently purchased the SwissGear Sion Softside Expandable Roller Luggage carry on for my mom because she has been traveling alot more and it changed her life. She lives cross country from us and before we got her this piece of luggage she would have issues with changing flights or delays and worrying about lost luggage. With this she has the piece of mind of knowing that her belongs are with her this whole time. It also saved her time at the airport to have check in luggage or wait to pick it giving her more time with the family. The best part is for the price it was very good quality with expandable zipper to get her more room to pack things and still fit easily in the overhead compartments.
