I bought this Swann cable for my Amcrest system to replace the old, thin cables I got with my old Swann system. I had it for a while but never used it until I bought 4k, 8MP, analog cameras with 160ft IR LEDs and a built in microphone. My old cables wouldn't power the new cameras so I pulled out this Swann cable. It worked right away and the image comes in crystal clear. I'm buying another one one for my other 4k camera. The coaxial cable wire looks like it is the same thickness as the old ones. But I belive the value of the cable really comes from the coaxial cable's shielding. This is what I believe increased my video's signal which carries 4k video and audio. The power portion of the cable is also thicker and the cable connections fit snug with my camera and provides enough power. It too looks like it has extra shielding too.

I am using these cable(s) for PTZ controls and the video , the camera's i am using require 12 v dc . They're power hog's and won't function properly without the correct voltage . So i am using the 200ft cable for it's great picture quality , i cut the end's off the power , it has two wires inside for PTZ controls and i bought this extension cord below : Hyper Tough Hyper Tough 100 ft., 16/3 Extension Cord, Orange, Indoor/Outdoor Use I found it at Walmart for 19.94 . I cut off the ends and used black and white for power , straight spliced it on the camera using BUTT Connectors , gauge 22-18 , color red . Then directly put the two wires in the PTZ controls on the back of my DVR . Works flawless . If the power would've worked on these cables at 200ft i would've gave it 5 stars but i had to buy more wire . I liked / loved these cables for the " best " picture quality I've seen , I used the power side of the cables cut both ends off and used the wires for PTZ controls . Over all i give the product four stars , because nothing was wasted , i used / use both the video and the power side for PTZ controls . Hopefully this helps out someone else who has expensive PTZ cameras that require a lot of juice / power .

This cable is *not* as pictured - the coax cable is very thin, not at all like what is in the picture. I can't imagine how a cable this thin is dual shielded. I haven't had a chance to install this cable in my system yet to test video quality, but was disappointed to find that it's not what is pictured.

This 50 ft. cable kit worked out just fine. At first I had a camera that the power cable would not fit with this cable. So I was very disappointed. I was ready to send back to Amazon for a refund. Solution was solved by buying a $2.00 adapter. So I decided to go ahead and keep it. Glad I did, but later found that the problem was not this cable, the problem was the PTZ camera I had purchased. Which eventually returned back to the seller (on Ebay). Bought another PTZ camera and works great with this set of cables. I later bought another cable kit (100 ft.) for another PTZ camera. To sum it up, these cables are very well made, adapts to all weather, great quality at a great price. I would highly recommend these cables to any and everyone.

Swann tech rep told me I could use Swann extension cables up to 300' but won't work over 70'. Very disappointed no one from Swann will contact me on this.

My situation was i only purchased it for the ptz control wires as i already (and luckily) had video and power wires already at the mounting point. The power plugs are backwards in relation to the ptz connections and video wire and you will have to adapt the connections. also the power wire does not breakaway from the video and ptz wires so you can forget about a remote 12v power distribution center in your attic or basement. for my situation it worked fine. but if you need it for all 3 connections power,video and ptz signals your gonna have issues
