Hard to beat the price, (I got 50% off during a prime day deal), regardless, it has a powerful infrared LED which illuminates a respectable area and distance. It has a few brightness levels that are easily controlled. That said, it will not work as a passive IR device, the display is black and white in infrared mode. It can perform in color in low light scenarios - I cannot find any information on how bright is too bright ( I have a passive IR scope which has definite limits to brighteness or damage will occur). It comes with a removable memory chip and will record video and still shots. It has good resolution and over 8X digital zoom. That said, in the higher zoom ranges it gets a bit grainy and you must use a tripod to keep it useable. It is fine as a hand held device with reasonable zoom levels.

I am a rwtirerld military guy..no these are not mil stuff. They are very much more fun. Plus u can record stuff too. I live very remote in the woods of Maine. I got these to help me out at night with my dogs and hunting. I was not expecting this to be that crazy clear. I am highly impressed and very much recommend this. My kids and me can easily see animals, structure trees etc.. like day light. It's crazy. I want another pair! Bottom line.. even ur kids will like em..and if u take animals out at night?? Yeah..these work 100% 10STARS

I have to say that I have seldom been so disappointed by a device as this one. While it isn't bad, the way it's being presented suggests that it can do things it really can't. What you have here isn't really "night vision". What you have is a very cheap security camera with an IR illuminator on the front and an LCD on the back. Does this allow you to see in the dark? Yes. However, only as far as the IR LED can cast its light, which is pretty limited. Unlike true night vision cameras, this will only allow you to see maybe 20 feet away at most. Within that view, however the views are sharp and well lit. And that's the thing-- it's not a bad device when you consider it for what it is. It functions, but it's not as useful as it would be if it were true night vision (e.g. light amplification). I also truly hate the way it turns on. It's unfortunate, but I don't think we'll ever be free of the "hold down button to power on" thing, but this viewer has the annoying property of not giving you a single indication of exactly when you've held down the button enough. I hold the button down what should be enough and right at the point I think about hitting the button again because I didn't hold it down long enough, it just pops on! Would it be so hard to have some indication that the device was powering up? So as I said-- consider this a cheap nighttime security camera that you can hold in your hand that has its own display on the back. Because as far as I can tell, that's all it is!

The media could not be loaded. I would like to stress this is positive review. By that I mean it may sound negative because I want readers to know the limitations of this product. I ordered the SVBONY SX31 Night Vision Goggles because I common need to see in low light conditions in our back yard. First they obviously are NOT goggles. This device has a 3.2" screen that shows an enhanced video. It also has a camera that can record video or snapshots. The SX31 has a good variety of settings that can be adjusted. Saying that I feel this product should have more push buttons. It is easy to get button confused because this buttons have many multifunctions. Overall, I was really impressed by the performance of this device at this price point. I did not expect it to be able to work as well as it does. The 7 IR modes are backwards in my opinion. The first setting that comes up is the highest sensitivity and in my experience I am always finding myself having to go thru 4 or 5 settings to get to the best picture. The build is plastic feeling, but somewhat solid. It is really good that it has a tripod mount on bottom. The SX31 comes with a 32GB memory card which is nice. It also comes with charging cable, lens cloth, carrying strap and bag. It comes with a 3.2 inch screen but calls out a 4.3 screen in title, not sure why. A great feature is when I plug the SX31 into my Mac it pops up a disk of the movie and photo files on my desktop without any installed drivers. The one issue that maybe a deal breaker is that if you select 36M image size, the jpeg photos are corrupted (see photo example below). All other settings work fine. Probably a future firmware bug fix. Also, I have also attached a quick video on the performance of the SX31 in my back yard. As stated I was impressed with this inexpensive camera with seven IR modes. In my opinion this product deserves a 4-star rating.

The media could not be loaded. For the price, this is a very good and useful pair of night vision goggles. I think they work best for visual conformation; helping to spot and identify things at a distance at night rather than recording. While the goggles take pictures and record, the quality is just ok; but on par with what I expect at this price point. Depending on what you are looking at, some objects can appear blown-out and too bright. However, overall I am impressed with how it illuminates images to areas that are truly dark. I used these inside and outside and it does a great job! The image can be zoomed in quite a bit. I attach them to a tripod if using the zoom feature for a prolonged period of time. I found focusing to be fairly easy as well. I have also used these during the daytime for zooming in to view an object. The battery life is good a the case is a dir see, hard plastic. It comes with a strap and cloth case.

I wish this worked better with the zoom. When looking at something no more than 15 yards away when we zoomed in 1x it got extremely blurry and would not focus. The sd card also would't stay in the spot. If you don't need to zoom, than it may be great!
