We have Verizon. We tried it in an apartment in an urban area in Virginia, no change to our signal. Moved to a suburban area in North Carolina, same result. Does nothing. It is easy to setup but cable is stiff and difficult to thread out.

WHY I LOOKED FOR THIS TYPE OF DEVICE: I live in an outlying, rural area with only incredibly slow DSL or satelite as options for internet. I have a Sprint MiFi Hotspot device (Franklin Wireless r850) with unlimited internet, but the signal to my house is spotty at best. An average measured RSSI of -82 dB is what I was getting with the hotspot placed in the best location within my house. This allowed for speeds of (again, measured average) 2.5 Mbps down and 1.6 Mbps up (compared to my old AT&T DSL of 1.3 Mbps down and 0.2 Mbps up). Unfortunately, the signal was so bad that it would often drop out. So I knew I needed a cell signal booster. WHAT I TRIED: I purchased another indoor signal booster from a competitor to SureCall, but it didn't do much. I contacted that competitor (great customer service) and was told that their equipment does not work well with some of Sprint's ranges. They actually recommended looking at SureCall's devices. MY RESULTS WITH SURECALL: I purchased EZ 4G booster kit and, upon arrival, installed the receiver at the same spot where my hotspot received the best signal. I placed the repeater downstairs (about 30' away) and my RSSI went from -82 dB to -52 dB!!! I thought that this was a fluke, so I ran continual tests over the past few days on the signal and the speeds. The signal ranged from -55 dB to -51 dB the entire time and I ran speed tests via testmy.net every 5 minutes for 4 days. My current average speeds over this time period are 5.1 Mbps down and 2.2 Mbps up. This is a significant improvement for me! Obviously, everyone will get different results, but I am super satisfied with this purchase.

I tried this in two different locations. Home and at school and both locations did not appear to have any significant change in signal. Does not work as advertised in my opinion and is a very expensive lesson to be learned. Would not recommend or buy again.

The device's planning is more problematic than its actual placement. Finding a satisfactory solution in a small condo for both good reception and yet the requisite 25 - 30 foot distance to the base station may be problematic. For a 1 bedroom unit or a unit limited to one floor, no ready solution might even be found to be workable. Next is figuring out how to course the Coaxial cable if a stairwell, hallway or room threshold is to be encounterd in the cable's course of placement. Attaching the antenna and base station and the power source attachment at the antenna is facile as is antenna placement. Once the coaxial cable path can be designated using some preformed chase or some stables or clips is fairly mundane. The unit surprisingly gave more amplification than I expected. It is advised to use signal strengths in terms of db-m rather than bar readings which are inconsistent between smartphones and generally worthless. Lowering my -115 dB-m to perhaps 88 dB-m (lower is better) showed marked data delivery gain, but voice quality remained problematic in the outgoing direction. While antenna placement as well as the base station distancing from the antenna are both important, having some consideration of other factors are also important. The voice function was not usable until experimenting a bit got me to thinking of Bluetooth interference. Voice functionality including outgoing voice (previously a problem as versus incoming voice) was gained wit the Bluetooth disengaged. It is important to consider this. Bluetooth may be a 'double whammy', consuming power resources while also inerfering with reception in a dynamic fashion as it goes through cycles of frequency jumping which can cause local circuit impedence jumps as Bluetooth service contact jumps in and out of the 2.5 GHz frequencies otherwise imperceptively. Harmonically generated frequencies may directly alter the cellular signal emanating from the smartphone, at least as my understanding of RF physics would have me believe. If I am wrong, this does not matter in the end: try the cellular device with Bluetooth functionality turned off. It may just solve the issue. Current function is crystal clear. Bluetooth disengagement attempted in the past was not effective by itself, so that I am certain the improved result is from a compounded solution rather than from either one in and of itself.

I can’t say enough positive things about this unit! This review was a rare one for me as I’m hardly ever blown away, and i am not sayingthat now, by any measure!@ items usability or build quality but there is a first time for everything! It would not be the first time but it’s been a long time since I can remember feeling this positive, only to discover day by day the shortfalls, many let downs. about a device I ordered from ANYWHERE! Well let’s get on with it, what can I say, it’s a true plug in and play unit? Limited big time on its usage! I’m in a building made of solid materials, concrete and steel and it’s older, that means well made, unfortunately the downside is no signal can penetrate the interior walls! But there’s cell towers in abundance, and that’s important to note. This will work great for you if you have a cell tower in average proximity, test your home’s window strength in terms of reception. Simply bring your phone to a few windows in you home and see if you get better reception at any of the windows, and if you do, this will absolutely work for you! It won’t create a cell phone tower signal where there isn’t one. It improves greatly upon the towers you should have on average in the general vicinity. I’m in San Francisco, in about the area in which this unit was constructed, semicon valley, cell towers are in abundance but I live in a solid building structure and this unit is exactly what I needed! I’m getting on average now 4.5 to 5 bars of signal strength with this plug in and play marvelous device, prior to my owning the miracle maker 1 bar, 1.5, moving was a serious option; we need internet, goes without saying! I’m happy to give this bad boy 5 stars!!!!! I hope it keeps the positive signals coming, I salute the Surecall unit! Get to those windows, test that signal strength!! 5 Stars all day! Well a cpuple weeks later and its not everything i hoped it eoumd be, not by even hslf tge praise i initially gave it! Sad! About the only thomg its still doing for me id lighting up the extra bars on my phome signsling a better strength in signal but means absolutely nothing in terms of receiving data faster or kerping giving that extra power to your video streaming or hoping you wont have to continue to get messages on you have no internet or weak signal because im still getting all of that and it still tskes aclong time for the comtent to load on amazon and other sites. Disappointing! But it was purchased used and on a deep discount, it apparently helps call signal too so just incase that becomes an issue hopefully this device will come thru. The omly way this device is worthwild is if you get it at a steep price. 1 paid 140 for it regular $399 shouldn't be more then$ 99 ps it doesnt even cover the sq footage they claim, my place is a studio and i just go to the rest room10 feet out of range of the table antana and the window booster and it drops off immediately. Thats disappoining as well, why do these people over speak on the units service coverage.. Makes no sense.

Works great if you are within 15-20'. Does not give full house coverage as advertised. Still for the price it it helps. If in range as delisted i went from 1 bar to 3 bars. You need to know where cell tower is to which window you install it in. Overall a helpful product.

I purchased it in hopes the reviews I read were incorrect, was I wrong.... I have 2-3 bars at my windows, 1-2 in the house. Set device up with no issues, gave it a few minutes to settle, completed speed tests. Found it to reduce my speed and did not increase bars. I was 2 feet from the inside booster. Tried moving it around several locations with no improvement. Tested Sprint and Verizon networks both with no improvement so Back it goes
