Description

We recommend that you use the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door or Cat Door with your pet's veterinary inserted microchip. However if your pet is not microchipped, the SureFlap RFID collar tag is available as an alternative. SureFlap RFID collar tags contain a code that is unique to your pet so that if other pets in the neighbourhood have a SureFlap collar tag, or any other type of collar tag used in selective pet doors, they will not be able to gain access through your SureFlap Microchip Pet Door or Cat Door. SureFlap RFID collar tags are compatible with all versions of the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door and with the most recent version of the SureFlap Microchip Cat Door (serial numbers higher than 1152201). One collar tag is supplied with the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door, but you may need to purchase additional collar tags if you have more than one non-microchipped pet. The SureFlap Microchip Cat Door does not come supplied with a collar tag. This pack contains two collar tags.

  • same as ones that come with feeder.
bought as backup incase my cat loses the one we already have. these are the exact same ones that came in feeder so i assume they will work fine if we ever need them.. these RFID tags work well with feeder and are easy to program quickly but, my reason for 4 stars is the ring the tag comes with, it isn't very friendly to long hair cats at all. the ends of ring kept catching my cat's fur to the point where he kept trying to get tag off of him and was pulling his fur out! we ended up taking ring off and cutting a thin string out of a stretchable fabric and used that to tie tag to his collar and no more issues. we did buy microchips to use but, decided not to use them for these tags open up feeder a lot faster than both microchips i tested.. would be nice if these feeder tags, for at least cats, were a smaller size. ... show more

  • Expensive in the short term, but worth the money
We got these for our sureflap cat feeder we already had after our cat lost both tags already. Easy to get onto a collar and light so our cat doesn’t notice, and responses quickly to the feeder. A little expensive in the short term, but the long term affects make it worthwhile. I do recommend (and so does my cat, Amiya, pictured with the tag on the collar). ... show more

  • SureFlap Tags are necessary
These tags make every other SureFlap product work. You definitely need them. So your cat loses their collar once a year - order replacements to have on hand. This is not the time to save money. In my experience, the SureFlap microchip scanners don't work at all. The SureFlap Dual Scan Microchip Reading cat door is fantastic, but won't work on metal doors without an adapter and still won't work without these little tags. The cats microchip needs to be 2 inches away from the scanner to work. Do you know any cat with a microchip on their face or in their neck? I don't. Vets usually inject the microchip in their shoulder - which is more than 2 inches away from the scanner. Get the tags. Save yourself the hassle we have gone through to make the door work. ... show more

  • Try this tag if your Dual-Scan Cat Flap isn't working (with a caveat)
Had to buy this because my new Dual-Scan Cat Flap wasn't reading my cat's microchip, even with the Metal and Expanded Range modes turned on. Part of the problem, I think, is the "window" of area where it reads the microchip. My cat's head is halfway through the door before it registers, and I know her microchip hasn't migrated significantly. The RFID tag makes the Dual-Scan Cat Flap operational now, but know this: it seems to interfere with the old style Cat Flap (serial numbers lower than 1152201). I reused my old Cat Flap on an interior door and now it doesn't respond to my cat's microchip anymore. I emailed support, who didn't confirm this suspicion but suggested I buy a new CatFlap. ... show more

  • Great product and company... We love the door that goes with these...
WE bought the door and it came with one of these, the first tag was lost along with the safty collar that must have come off the cat, then we got a new cat, so we ordered these for our little 4 legged people :) and I switched to small, and Extra small dog collars, so they are not qick release collars :) The door was awesome to and continues to work flawlessly! Great tags! I recomend this product! ... show more

  • Works very well
I have two cats on prescription food (one weight loss and one glucose management) my other cats are on regular food but are happiest when they can free feed. I have purchased two of these for my free feed cats and so far it seems to be working very well. There are clear plastic blocks on either side of the tray and if you set the dish against a wall, you can avoid the problem of someone sneaking in the back. ... show more
