  • Calm/ NO barking in the car!
Color: Black Size: XL
This calming cap worked perfect for our issue. Our four-year-old black lab is a rescue and we quickly learned that he barked inconsolably. We tried everything sitting with him in the backseat, harnessing him in reassuring, consoling nothing worked from the time the car started moving till we stopped. He barked continuously. I thought I had. Gone through all of what could be wrong. Why didn’t he like to ride in the car? I googled one night why does my dog bark in the car and I got a list when territorial/protection came up I knew this was our issue. He is very protective of us. Then I dug deeper to find out what we could do to help him. One of my searches came up with the calming cap. I ordered this one. Lava is a 90 pound labrador and the XL fits good. The strap is a little long across the top of the head but it works. I tried it on him in the garage and he let me put it on and adjust. I praised him then took it off. We got ready. I got him in the car, put his harness on and seatbelt put the calming cap on gave him a treat and slowly backed out of the driveway when I turned, he made a little whimper. I reassured him, He was OK and off we went. We drove around the block three times past people walking and nothing no barking no anxiousness he even laid down three or four times in the backseat and all of those were rewarded with a treat. This worked for my furbaby! five stars and for the price it’s worth a try. ... show more

  • Rescue with anxiety - instant success
Color: Black Size: L
We recently brought home a Rescue, now training for her job as my ESA. She’s a little over a year ago a half old, extremely intelligent, and great at her work in home. Outside my small 2 person family is a completely different issue. She has extreme anxiety, to the point of seeming aggressive. She truly isn’t- it’s a phobia. Anyone who can wait for an episode to be over gets to see her at her sweetest. She’s even more afraid of vehicles. We don’t have to be near anyone for her to panic, she just has to see them. I got this mask because throughout her time here she’s done good at so much of her training, and I noticed if I could keep her from seeing the people or moving cars she was zoning on, it’s much easier to settle her down. Her last family used a shock collar, which isn’t really good for a dog’s anxiety and could possibly be the reason for her fear response. Back to this mask. I expected her to need to work up to getting used to wearing it when we go outside, and dislike it at best-case-scenario. I walked a completely different dog today. Even at night. She doesn’t struggle, attempt to remove, or freak out in any way about wearing it. I could not have expected such immediate change for her so soon. This is exactly what she needed, affordably. We can walk near people, cars, anything, and she’s aware but able to stay focused on her task. She trusted me to lead and tell her the steps on the way to the doggy area outside and back home. It may look cheap/may not look or feel like much, but it’s perfect. The light material is great for feeling less restricted, the muzzle band is the size projected and seems much more comfortable than her normal non-mask muzzle she used to wear, and the way it covers her face it still allows plenty of room for her to enjoy the breeze outside. She’s able to actually enjoy sniffing around rather than focusing on her surroundings. This is an absolutely helpful tool for her and I hope this review can help anyone else looking for solutions to a dog that has phobia issues outside the home. We have been looking for anything to help her, and nothing else we’ve tried is so much the right thing. It’s definitely worth a shot. Try it before you give up hope. ... show more

  • Does the trick!
Color: Black Size: L
I bought this for my dog aggressive boxer pit to see if it would help out with his reactivity a bit. I have a fenced front yard, but he can't go out much with me cause he is a psycho when he see others dogs. Same when we go on walks, to the point where I just don't take him anymore. Also, the groomers. Used it on him for the groomers and it worked great. He couldn't see any of the other dogs, so he stayed chilled out while they did his nails. Also, tried it on him on a walk. It worked for the reactivity, but have to keep him on super short leash so he can follow my lead. It's a bit tricky and will require practice so he doesn't bump into things or trip on curbs, etc. But it definitely helps to be able to take him on a peaceful walk without worrying about him going psycho killer mode with any dog he sees no matter how near or far. I also put it on him so he could roam in the front yard while I do yard work and it works great. He learns to smell and feel his way around, and I don't have to worry about him jumping the fence or going into attack mode anytime a dog walks by. It is something I plan to use infrequently, but he seems to like it actually. When I get it out to put it on him, he wags his tail and comes closer and waits while I put it on. He wags his tail while he has it on too. Weird. ... show more

  • A great product
Color: Black Size: L
One day after another very difficult walk with our 5 year old GSD, I came home and asked if what if his eyes were blindfolded maybe that would help? Then I discovered this product. We bought Bear, a 10-week-old puppy, the last of the litter, from a would-be breeder. Unfortunately, within a year, he became highly reactive to other dogs. Sometimes ferociously. I few times I have been pulled down trying to hold him as he went crazy at the sight of another dog. Big or small, it made no difference. We have had many trainers, but none were able to change him. We also tried drugging him with Prozac, etc., nothing worked. On several occasions, my wife, who was very concerned that I might become badly injured and who was afraid of walking him herself, almost talked me into giving him away. But how could I do that in good conscience, without disclosing his issues. Then I recently gave him to a trainer for 6 weeks, who guaranteed that he could fix Bear, but after many trainings, admitted that he couldn't fix Bear, and did not charge me. At this point, two weeks ago, I went to the Calming Cap. It has made all the difference. Now we are able to walk past, dogs, even cats, without Bear losing his mind. Although there have been a few instances, where he smelled the other dog and reacted a little, in general, 90% of the time, Bear has had a return to sanity. I recommend this product to any dog owner who struggles with reactivity. ... show more

  • More of a panic for dogs than a calming item
Color: Black Size: M
I purchased all 3 sizes at different times, trying to get one that fit my dog and returned all 3. Somehow, the XL came by mistake, but the L and M didn't work for us either. My dog is a Corgi, and shouldn't be all that hard to fit. Having previously owned a blind dog, I know intimately well how a dog who is unable to see copes and behaves in what might be frightening or uncertain situations. This mask actually terrifies a dog who CAN see and has its sight abruptly taken away. Add to that the fear of something scary going on -- like a nail clipping, car ride, thunder storm, or being handled by a stranger. The poor fit aside, I'd say all in all, I think this product is a very bad idea. To the point that I'd call its use borderline cruel. ... show more

  • This stopped his constant barking at T.V.!!
Color: Black Size: S
Oh my gosh!!! WOW!!! This is so wonderful! My dog is a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (Shih-Poo) puppy, he's about 6.5 -7 lbs., I bought him a size SMALL. He barks at the T.V. ALMOST NON-STOP...Geez! I haven't been able to relax & watch T.V. for a few weeks, but when I'd cover his eyes for seconds with my hand, he'd bark less... So I thought I'd try this! Lol. WOW! This thing is amazing! He falls asleep peacefully on me, & stopped barking at T.V. at a 99.9% difference! -At 1st, I let him look at this eye cover & smell it, then I played with him with it for a few minutes, to help ease him into it & get used to it a little. I only leave it on 1-2 hours while he sleeps peacefully, -I take it on & off so he can use bathroom, eat, drink, play, etc... Wow! He always falls asleep within 10-15 min, while laying on me. He doesn't seem to mind it, he holds still while I put it on, then he lays down right away. I am amazed!! I adopted my puppy 6 months ago, & all of a sudden, 1 month ago, he started barking at the T.V.; then over this past month, he'd get VERY REACTIVE & AGGRESSIVE every minute the T.V. was on...goofy puppy. T.V. just seemed to stress him out so much!!! Now he's at peace, while I relax for 1-2 hours watching T.V. I'm SO grateful that my puppy is at peace now, & just falls asleep with this mask on. Lol. He gets a good nap for 1-2 hours & he seems more rested & happier since I've been using this mask. BIG DIFFERENCE!! Haha, I just ordered the yellow duck mask too, so I can see him better at night, in bed, while watching T.V. I feel A LOT LESS STRESSED as well, -knowing that he feels peaceful now, -instead of constantly reactive & aggressive, & he's NOT lunging at the T.V. anymore! Thank u seller & Amazon! My dog is much happier & calmer! ... show more

  • No matter how snug I make it, my dog manages to slide it down her neck somehow
Color: Dark Blue Size: M
This is the third brand on amazon of calming hood/ear wrap I’ve tried, but unfortunately it just won’t stay on my dog’s head. The concept makes sense and the adjustable design looks promising, but no matter how snug I make it, she manages to shake it off within minutes. It didn’t seem uncomfortable when it was on her, and the material feels okay quality-wise, no issues with velcro but the fit of the design wasn’t secure enough for her. If your dog is very still or more tolerant of things on their head, it might stay put better, but for a dog that shakes or moves around a lot, this just slides off onto their neck still. It’s too bad because the idea is good, especially with the double clasp, but in practice it just didn’t stay in place. ... show more

  • Constant Struggle.
Color: Grey Size: M
Anti-Slip No, not at all it slips and slides like crazy. I got this for an aural hematoma, it seems more comfortable than the one the vet put on but I am here to tell you that if your dog has an aural hematoma, the struggle to keep any sort of wrap on the dog is constant. Dogs do not like having their heads is wraps period. That is a marketing ploy. I would size down with this, I got a medium because that's what size the vet used. It's too big, I had to take it to the sewing machine and take it up. ... show more
