I breed and own persian cats. Traditional cat muzzles are not a good option for their flat faces. Anything obstructing their nose and mouth is going to make their breathing hard. It also fits them very poorly. The cat pictured is disabled. Whenever she goes to the vet she tries her hardest to bite when they draw blood. This device totally prevented that. Some of my cats have a short fuse for grooming and this keeps me from getting bit. I chose this model even though it was not reviewed yet because of the extra air holes. I wanted as much ventilation as possible and this has provided that. The only issue I have is that it doesn’t fit on my intact male. His neck is very thick and its way too tight. Im not sure if this is only the case because hes an intact persian with a thick head and neck. Perhaps this is a breed specific trait that wont affect a domestic cat, but I felt it was worth noting. My male is 10 pounds. It has fit very comfortably on my cats 6-8 pounds so far but ill need to find a larger version for my male. ... show more

It would work IF my cat were larger. He's 6 months old. I would like to return it, but do not have the original outer box to send it in. I do have another box I could use, though. I DEFINATELY need a muzzle for this guy. It took 3 people at the vet's office to clip his nails!!! So, that. being the case, I don't know if the nail grinder could be of use. I am looking for a smaller muzzle. I think I may have to get something for his feet so he can't claw me while grooming him. ... show more

PLEASE BE CAREFUL If you have a long-haired cat.. BE CAREFUL the hair tangled around the Velcro and i thought my cat was finally settling down, but he was actually almost unconscious because it was so tight around his neck, I think it would be fine on a short haired cat, TERRIBLE EXPIENCE ESPECIALLY FOR LEROY MY 9-MONTH-OLD PERSIAN CAT :-( ... show more

I love how it makes my cats look like astronauts. The only con is that it is sometimes a little heavy. It's good for claw clipping, but I wouldn't recommend it as an e-collar alternative.
