I had another mirror, the kind that fits into the end of the handlebar. That kind provided much better rear viewing since the mirror was concave and stuck out farther. The problem was that since those kinds of mirrors stick out so far they tend to get bumped and banged around a lot. I was hoping this type of mirror would work better since it mounts over the handlebar, but the geometry doesn't work and what you end up seeing is your side/shoulder rather than what's behind you. And yes, i have tried multiple mounting locations, it just doesn't do what I want. The problem is that there is so much stuff on the handlebar, including grips, that have to be in a particular location it's impossible to find a suitable spot to mount the mirror. The mirror being flat instead of concave doesn't help either, but the flatness of the mirror does provide a more accurate distance to things you can't see. ... show more

I thought this mirror would be too small but it fits just right and it's actually pretty sturdy so for the price and appearance it's nice, also i think it goes with my Schwinn hybrid mountain bike pretty well. I just got done completing and new paint job new and different color stickers and new handlebars so yes this little mirror is perfect ... show more
