I’ve been looking for some kind of reusable/refillable lighter that I can use to light candles, my wood burning stove fireplace insert and my fire pit (solo stove). There are not a lot of inexpensive options. I stumbled across this one and figured worst case I could just use it for candles if it didn’t work well on the fire pit or the wood stove. I light my pit and stove using a roughly 1.5” x 1.5” x 0.25” compressed cardboard fire starter and fat wood (light the cardboard which lights the fat wood which lights the kindling etc). My concern was that distance between the two poles is significantly narrower than thickness of the fire starter. I am happy to report that with a little fiddling and repositioning of the lighter and patience this does light my fire starter pretty easily. It is not super quick (it can take up 10 or 20 seconds) but it does the job. Maybe if I use balled up newsprint or other paper it would work better . . . but that’s not my preferred method. This works amazing for candles very quick and easy. With the limited options I’ve found I’m extremely happy with this very reusable product. It’s not perfect but it’s not as if I’m lighting two fires a day every day all winter or anything. I’m lighting at most maybe 5 or 6 fires a week once a day during the winter. If I needed to rely on it more frequently for lighting fires I would probably find a less fiddly option but that’s not the case. Because of the fiddly nature of using this the way I’m using it I’m probably going through the battery faster than most but I still think the battery life is just fine. I have the few caveats that I mentioned but if it is important to you to have a non high frequency disposable lighter to light fires this is a very good choice . . . when one factors in the cost compared to other reusable/refillable fire lighters I think this becomes an excellent choice.

Product works well. I use for the gas stove mostly - we have a burner that does not ignite reliably & this is perfect for that. We use it for candles also & this is easy to reach into a deep candle jar. Takes a second, but always works. I did have a problem with charging/lighting, but I reached out through amazon and got immediate troubleshooting response and offer of a free replacement if needed. I had caused the problem - some wax buildup on the igniter end. Cleaned it off & good as new. Thanks for the quick & specific help.

I’ve been using these types of candle lighters for quite a while, but it was normally the stick version. I prefer this one with the nice slide door to protect it from accidentally going on, and the flexible end to get the head we needed inside the candle opening the price is right and the quality seems to be really good and it charges really fast with the USB-C, don’t think just buy it !

This works much better than we expected, and is a clean and easy way to light candles. It has a few advantages in that if your wick is short there is no wax melting going on from the flame as you try to light it. Two caveats, one big and one small. It won't work on for example lighting kindling. I haven't tried it on newspaper, but it's sort of like a spark plug and i will light very narrow things only. The big caveat may or may not apply to you. One of our kids immediately experienced discomfort in their ears when we turned it on - my wife and I didn't. The high frequency can be almost painful to youngsters while older people no longer hear those frequencies. This phenomenon has been used (or IMHO abused) by some businesses that place high frequency sound generators outside to discourage teenagers from hanging around, while adults don't even notice it. If you buy this and your kids immediately complain about the screeching noise - that's it.

Works great - the battery lasted about half a year. Tried to recharge using a USB C cable plugged into a high-speed charger block (one of the super-fast chargers), but it wouldn't charge. Switched to a regular 5V 2.1A charger block and it's charging now. I presume that the high-speed charger block wasn't set up for low loads.

I make jewelry as a hobby and use a propane torch for soldering (technically, braising). The "candle lighter" works so much better than the hardware store flint strikers I used previously to light the torch. Good riddance to those annoying flint igniters! Of course, you have to be careful not to let the tip stay in the flame! This was a highly affordable alternative to the expensive spark igniters marketed to jewelers. I was surprised to find that it came already charged. I haven't needed to recharge yet, so I assume it has a long battery life. Great product!

I had a hard time lighting candles/starting a fire in the fireplace. It took too long for things to catch fire and it was hard to operate. Also, it doesn't seem to hold a charge well. I certainly would not use it as a gift for anyone unless they specifically asked for it.
