This is a wonderful STEM set for the suggested age range, it is a lot of fun to build and put together, there is so much to choose from as far as the direction that you want to choose to go in to put this together. The pieces are great quality and are very durable especially for this age range to work with.     • Takes a little time, but is a lot of learning fun for kids

This is a great educational toy for kids, especially for anyone whose kids want to figure out how things work and have deceded the best way to do so is take things apart regardles of whether they or anyone else is able to put it back together. This gave us a project to direct their attention towards that they've been able to take apart and put back together in different ways to keep them engaged and interested, and they love being able to control the robot every thime it gets put together. Definitely requires some adult assistance at times, especially in the beginning, but I've had a lot of fun using it with them and its really cool seeing the lok on their faces when one of them figures something new out. My youngest told me that there is more than 5 ways to put it together, and from what he has shown me, that is correct if you aren't especially picky about what it looks like or being able to predict what is going to happen when you manipulate the controls. In any case, its been a lot of fun and as an added bonus for me anyways, since we got it, the average number of days per week I grab a doorknob and have it come off in my hand while my kids watch giggling has been reduced by an appreciable amount. ... show more

I got this one because I was looking a robot-style model that works with the Kaiyu app. It was a fun build, but the left+right sides, with the gears that mesh with the treads, didn't build straight. When pulled toward each other later in assembly also pulls against the axles so the motor can't drive them. ... show more

These lego-like kits are a real challenge for younger kids, but they can do it and will probably get the most out of the experience. Start them out young! The bricks fit together almost like legos and the robots function as expected until you build something totally new.
