As a sourdough novice, I had none of the “tools”. I have serviceable alternatives in my kitchen, but the bowls I used for proofing didn’t seem to work very well - though that could be my lack of experience. I ordered this kit as an investment toward my success. I was worried about how light the bowl seemed, but it was strong enough to hold the dough without breaking. The removable liner comes on and off easily but stays put when holding the dough. It washes easily - I hung it up to dry. It doesn’t keep the flour completely from falling through to the bowl, so I did need to gently brush the bowl a little, rinsed it, and air dries it thoroughly. The mixer has a comfortable weight to it, as well as the dough cutter. Both seem pretty well made. The lame needs to have the blade put on it, and though it’s sharp, it took more effort than I expected to score the dough. In all, I’m happy with my purchase. It’s good for a starter set.

These tools helped me create a better quality loaf! I never would have thought a little more upgraded products would help out, but they did! I also like this set because it wasn't too many extra items, just enough. The banneton helped my dough rise, breathe and shape much better. The bench scraper was very helpful in creating lots of tension in the dough. The scorer was very helpful, since I could never get the sharp cuts before. The particular whisk for dough is much easier to use and clean.

I’ve been baking sourdough for a while, and this kit has everything I needed in one box. The banneton basket holds its shape beautifully and the liner makes cleanup easy. Both the plastic and stainless steel scrapers are sturdy and practical — I reach for them every bake. The Danish whisk mixes dough smoothly without clumping, and the bread lame gives clean scores with the extra blades included. I also appreciate the thoughtful extras like the cleaning brush and recipe booklet. Everything feels well-made and packaged nicely. This set would be perfect for someone just starting sourdough, but even as a regular baker, I’ve loved using it. Highly recommend!

I haven't used this yet. I did wash the liners with mild soap and notice that there is brown stains on the liner , I believe those are caused by dye bleeding from an embroidered emblem.

been baking sourdough breads at home for a while and tried a few different baskets, but this one’s easily my favorite. The basket itself is really solid, doesn’t feel cheap at all. Love that it’s smooth (no splinters like other ones I've tried) and dough never sticks. It comes with a bunch of stuff—liner, lame, whisk, scraper—honestly more than I expected for the price. Ive ended up using the whisk a ton. Dough comes out perfect shape every time and has those really nice spirals you want from a banneton. Cleaning is super easy too, just knock out some flour and let it dry out. overall super happy, highly recommend for any sourdough baker beginner or not.

This is a nice basic set for making sourdough. I was previously using a spoon to mix my dough, the dough whisk is a huge improvement over a spoon! I was proofing in a medium sized bowl but it didn't have the traditional shape I wanted to see in my finished bread. This banneton is a good size and shape for my needs and I'm sure my wife will be glad that I'm no longer using her dish towels as bowl liners. The dough scraper is also a great tool and has improved my ability to tension my dough. None of this stuff is required to make good bread but it sure makes the process more enjoyable and improves the end result. It wasn't terribly expensive for all of the tools it includes and is certainly a huge value over purchasing a lame, whisk, brush, banneton, and liner all separately.
