This tool was recommended to me by a professional. I am so happy I got it. It is carefully made. Looks and feels solid. What makes this tool so great is that the cone part is a roller. No lubricant needed. No rubbing wear. I leaves a mirror bright surface and should last a very long time. I had no experience making refrigeration flares. This kit takes no skill. Follow the instructions and it makes perfect flares. I check them with a go no go gauge and the 3/8 and 1/2 are right on every time. The 1/4 will be a bit over sized if the tube is pushed hard to the stop but backed out a hair and they are fine. The built in clutch prevents over tightening and then burnishes the face. The first few times feel awkward but after that they are easy. Do not forget to put the nut on before making the flare. My most common mistake. The tubing cutter works great and has space between the bearings to put a flare that needs to be cut off. See above about putting the nut on first. The deburring tool works well on 3/8 and 1/2. It takes the burr off the inside of the tube without beveling the end. Get some smaller blades to do 1/4. Quick easy and repeatable results. Worth every penny. Nice solid case too.

This kit works great. The tubing cutter is extremely smooth and nice. I flared about 8 mini split lines with zero problems. Really all the tools in this kit seemed well made. It takes just a minute to figure out how to use it and finding the two button you need to press in to slide the tool off. But overall it was pretty easy to learn.

Overall, it’s a good flaring tool and it makes clean flares when everything is lined up properly. My only complaint is that the aluminum is pretty soft. If the pipe isn’t perfectly aligned before tightening, it’s easy to damage the tool. Just take your time during setup and it works well.

Recently installed a mini-split AC unit in my garage. As often seen, many installations simply coil the excess lines behind the exterior unit - which looks amateurish. I chose to cut and flare the excess lines to length, and using the Super Star Flaring Tool Kit, it was incredibly easy. I cut the excess lines a bit long initially, looked through the brief instructions, did some test flaring to become accustom with using the tool. Then cut lines to final length, and creating beautiful flared ends (actually looked better than the factory ends). Glad I picked up this tool kit!

I'm very pleased with this flaring kit after using it to make flares in both 3/8 and 3/4 inch soft copper HVAC lines. I've owned a few flaring tools, and this works better than anything else I've tried. I bought it because my old kit didn't handle larger diameter tubing, but I'll continue to use it because it works so much better. Good quality, well designed, excellent finish, and comes in very nice case. Recommended.

Great tool, super easy to use, makes great looking flares. All held tight on first pass. I like the clutch that disengages when flare is complete. Also comes with a nice carry case. Much better than my old tool.
