I recently had the chance to evaluate the Sunrise Alarm Clock Wake Up Light as part of Amazon's Vine program. Despite a slight delay in delivery, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of this product and was keen to explore its features. The light mode on this alarm clock is quite impressive, allowing for a substantial amount of customization. It provides an adjustable intensity scale from 1 to 10, offering a broad spectrum of brightness settings, multiple gradient options, solid rainbow colors, and naturally, sun emulation shades. Let's discuss the brightness first. To be honest, I found the maximum brightness somewhat overpowering, nearly blinding in fact, but as a self-proclaimed cave dweller, it's probably not designed for someone like me. This feature might appeal to those who favor a more intense wake-up call or those who have recently relocated from the sun to Earth and miss their home. I prefer settings within the 5 to 7 range, which provide a pleasant glow that's relaxing and enjoyable, casting just enough light to keep any under-bed monsters at bay. The primary reason I selected this item was my love for gradient coloring. If you incorporate it into lights, I'm sold, and this product doesn't disappoint in the least. The various gradient tones provide a range of lighting effects, including a fire-like glow, sunset and sunrise simulations, and a unique side lighting that's hard to describe. Clearly, considerable thought went into the design of this feature. I've attached some photos that I believe capture these effects as accurately as possible, but they really must be seen to be appreciated and these are just a few, I didn't include the side to side gradients to avoid repetitiveness. However, I found the soundscapes somewhat lacking. The forest sound operates on a short loop, making the repetitive bird calls rather grating. The sleep music seems intended for babies (yes, I know it's for babies, no judgment, Judy), but it feels like a random collection of notes that don't echo any familiar lullaby. Eventually, it sounds like the same few notes being repeated. My dog, however, seems to sleep soundly through it, so perhaps there's some merit to this feature. The built-in speaker performs adequately when playing radio music, though it's not particularly noteworthy. The tuning process can be cumbersome as it requires you to cycle through channels individually. A quick tip for those seeking stations above 100: use the Tuner- button to go backward and you'll loop around to 107.9, saving a bit of time. While on the subject, I usually test the technical aspects of these products without referring to the instructions to gauge their intuitiveness. Although it's possible to navigate without the instructions, the controls aren't exactly intuitive. Some are clear, like "Clock," but once you click to set the time, you're left guessing how to make any changes. The controls on this device can be initially perplexing. Therefore, I strongly recommend reading the instructions thoroughly before diving in – it will enhance your user experience. So, where does this leave us? The Sunrise Alarm Clock excels in its light features. The dimmable options and various gradients are well-designed and aesthetically pleasing. The soundscapes, while not all top-notch, offer a decent range for relaxation or meditation. However, the radio tuner and controls could use some improvements, and the controls need clearer labeling. Considering all these elements, I'm inclined to give this product a 4-star rating. Despite some minor flaws, the outstanding light settings alone compel me to give it a higher score. ... show more

I have to say this is more than just an sunrise alarm clock, it really is a game changer for me in the mornings. The fact that you can use this with or without a power cord (thanks to a CR 2032 battery) and also charge your electronic device is a major win. The sound clarity of natures orchestra is superb. It did take me some getting use to with the FM radio but finding the weather station for things to kick on is one less thing I have to do - rolling over in bed - grabbing phone - clicking weather - now it's all but the last two hah! Size, sound, lighting, extra charging ability for device, and battery are all wins for me! ... show more

Thr light suddenly turns on 30 minutes before your alarm. Nothing like sunrise, rather like a torture. If you are sensitive to light, this is the worst choice. Loved the radio function, though, but antenna is a long cord which can be dangerous for small children.

I bought this because I wanted to be woken up to the light naturally. I get up at 6 am usually and because of daylight savings, it’s really dark outside. This is perfect and cute! I wake up to the light and it also makes noises that help me go to bed. 10/10 !!

I love the look of this alarm and I have to say that all of the options for customizing is incredible. It does however take a lot of patience to learn all the ways to make it how you would like it and that can be a pain for some. At first I was about to say nope...not happening but then once I really sat down following the instructions and working out how I best liked the light settings and the sound it really became something that is really cool. And if you are like me and have black out curtains and all times of the day it is pitch black in your room you are going to need to adjust the light settings or it will be blinding. Normal light in a bedroom though it is brighter so it can compete with the actual sun. With a lot of options there obviously is going to be a learning curve and I have to say it is worth the time to get it going. I love the lights so much and though I do not use the sound machine part I like that it is an option still. If you are the type that just wants a plug and go, this is not for you. But for those that enjoy customizing and are okay with spending time for the learning curve part this is absolutely for you. ... show more
