I use pins like this for ATV towing and attachments. They are very handy. I wanted some spares and this was a good price 6 at $15. The clip seems strong and stays closed. I am certain the pin strength is more than enough for what I use them for on mowers, carts, and trailers. The finish is bright. It says they are Zinc coated for rust resistance. We will see after they are in use for a season or two.

This is a 6 pack of 3/8" diameter x 4" long trailer coupling pins. Each pin has a weather and corrosion resistant galvanized coating for a long service life. Each pin also has a square safety wire lock to prevent the pin from working itself loose and getting lost. Use these pins for a number of different needs like trailer couplers, PTO shaft locking for trailers, RVs, boats and farm equipment. I use several of these pins on my yard trailer and tractor. Would recommend these to anyone.

I think these are made in the same factory as the ones you can buy at the tractor store. The only difference is you get 6 vs 2 for almost the same price. The retainer spring is nice and stiff. The ones I was replacing were so weak a 3 year old boy could take them off. After finding that a stick or something caused the retainer to unclip and then losing what they were holding in place I replaced them.

Light Duty – I would not trust these on the highway – I will not use these on the highway I need to know how strong the steel is, so I asked the website this question, “What is the Grade rating of the pin? What is the double shear strength rating?” I received no answer whatsoever. I think it is rude indeed for the website to ignore questions. In my opinion, these pins are not suited for highway use for securing any towing at all. One of the website photographs is really frightening in its UN-safe suggestion of the use of these Hitch Pins. The really frightening photographs shows a Class III receiver hitch "secured” with one of these Hitch Pins. I am only going to use these Hitch Pins for light duty applications e.g. attaching a small wagon behind an ATV that never leaves the farm. I am embarrassed to admit that I live in the state that has the infamous notoriety of being the state with the most vehicle fatality accidents caused by trailers getting loose and stuff flying off of trucks from “failure to properly secure your load”. I will not be contributing to that statistic because my highway loads will always be properly secured. I continually check and recheck my load binding for absolutely secure binding. If you do not properly secure your loads and constantly monitor your bindings, you are risking other people’s lives. After the accident, imagine trying to claim that you had your load properly secured. Imagine the charges the highway patrol will give you. Imagine how much fun the Wrongful Death Attorney is going to have prosecuting your negligence.
